I received this sharpener about a month ago and I have to tell you it is fantastic. I have read a lot of reviews that badmouthed this item and I have to tell you that the people that wrote those bad reviews either work for other companies or they are just plain ignorant on how to use a pull through sharpener. I have been using this sharpener and putting just short of a razor sharp mirrors edge on all of my folders and find that if you know what you are doing by not putting pressure and or pressing your blades as you pull them through that you will receive a fantastic edge 100% percent of the time.

I been wondering what shimmering effects Kirnite has. Looks like it can be polished to a glass finish while maintaining a deep rich color.

I just ordered one of these kits. Look forward to putting it together. I would prefer the black scales with the black wash other than satin though. Thanks for offering these.

The easiest way is to pull it back when it is still a block, to the point at where the scale starts and then a little further. As you cut and sand a small tab will be left to pull off when finished.

Hi there. I recently purchased a 1x30 belt sander and reprofiled the edge on an sk5 knife (cold steel chaos double edge). I knew about the possiblity of ruining the temper so I took care to quench in water every stroke but developed a blackish brown burn mark on the tip.... which means the temper is probably messed up there right? how bad is this really? I stabbed some hard wood and the tip doesn't bend or break and is still sharp... i even noticed some of the burn mark has gone away by stabbing it in the wood. Does this mean that the tip is softer than before or more harder/brittle than before?
