Dragon 3D

Dragon 3D

Hey, I'm Ben! I really enjoy engaging in activities related to technology, though I tend to focus primarily on Blender, 3D printing, and various tech products. Ideally, I'll eventually start creating more programming-related videos with Unity or web development. Thanks for joining me on this journey! :)

Currently, my upload schedule aims to include a video a week, with Thursday as the goal. However, lately, there have been a lot of Saturday and Sunday uploads.

They should use cardboard spools, or have a way of sending empty spools back to the filament factory. Edit: Here's an interesting video from a Canadian filament maker. I bet there's a way of turning failed prints into pellets that could be extruded into "new" filament. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pZxlsptypKzdlNI.html

we really just need our recycling facilities to actually recycle more. They basically only do the easiest to recycle materials and skip the rest despite their "recycleable symbol" or a giant solar powered pyrolysis plant that can heat up and distill down those plastics into the various oils and fuels again for reuse.

I would love more kits or printer standards going towards using pellets

besides beeing a little more expensive, i like bambulabs effort in promoting reusable spools and spool refills. Wasted prints though are a thing i need to start thinking about

yes, we have to do something about plastic waste in 3d printing, although there are places that will recycle pla now, its quite rare. There’s really no excuse for plastic spools, unless they are intended to take refills . I now only get cardboard spools.

I imported an STL (from KiCAD WRL -> FreeCAD STL-> Blender) which seems to sit somewhere where I cannot see it. Setting the origin does not help. What can I do?

You can replace the heat break with one from bond tech and never have to replace the hot side PTFE tube again. Also, try Capricorn PTFE tubes. I have many hundreds of hours without failures using these.

I did that a few years ago when having issues with my mini…unfortuneatly the bondtech heat break suffers from heat creep. There are a few long thrrsds about this on the prusa forum. What i ended up doing is changing to a dragon hotend. The mini has been flawless since then. Took some tinkering and requires a working printer to print the new mounts but definatly worth it🎉

@@lillalysmasken3 I wonder what is different about my MINIs from yours. I have not had one single hot end related print failure over many hundreds of print hours and multiple printers using the Bondtech heat break.
