    People, This was all to show how quick it and how this type of lock lacks protection. Not to show you how to break in. Check out his site, he did tests on a couple others to show the quality of some better locks.

    What a waste of time. These locks practically pick themselves. Even if you can't pick, pry the face and back the screws out with the drill. Much faster and less unprofessional. 😂

    You went a little too high above the pins and then ended up knocking out the screws instead

    My lock wasn't like this on the inside, a solid metal piece with a key hole. However, the faceplate part was the same, and I was able to unscrew the two screws. Yay!

    I've read that some locks can't be picked if they have a difficult pin arrangement. I tried for 2 hours to pick a Kwikset clone without success using a bobby pin and a lever to apply torque. The pins either wouldn't move at all or sprang back into their original positions.

    Sometimes I hit every pin perfectly and everything slides apart like I'm a veteran cat burglar. Sometimes the mechanism spins or the bolts inside are broken but wedged and you gotta beat on it. Seems to depend on the age/design and material of the lock.

    At 1:37 you should have just drilled the screw mounts on each side. Much softer than the cylinder. 🤦🏽

  • @moneyfornothing3264
    @moneyfornothing3264 Жыл бұрын

    Jesus that was painful to watch. So why didn’t you just drill out the screw mounts, instead of spending well over a minute drilling out the cylinder pins?

    He only had 1 pin in that, it's nevvvvver that easy. That's why locksmith's always drill the lock off because they rarely can pick it or rake it off 💯

    So what happens when the tongue is stuck in the wall? I literally took a defiant doorknob apart using everything from a A pair of needle nose pliers,screwdriver , and a drill then finally a saws all… it took an hour and a half.

    Did he just drill to high?

  • @rikanderson4215
    @rikanderson42154 ай бұрын

    For starters, yes. He should have used a smaller bit first as a pilot hole to get through the case, then switch to a larger bit to drill the pins. He actually didn't show how to drill out a lock. He was just trying whatever he could do to get it open. 60 secs it should be open.
