  @@user-wv6mx8dr1f santa maria of nn is now lite ferry 8...before she became lf 8 she was gp ferry 1...lite ferry three on the other hand is the former gp ferry 2 whos is also the former our lady of mt carmel of cebu ferries / gothong lines

  Siya ang speed queen ng cokaliong before around 2009-2012 during her peak. From calbayog-cebu vv 8 hours lang instead of 12. Since hindi pa uso ang speedometer before sa pagkakatanda ko 15-16 knots daw ang takbo niya before tapos ang top speed is 18 knots. As of now she's doing 12.5-14 knots :) Suki ako dito sa Fil. Ozamis til now Mabangis rin to sumakay sa malalaking alon kaya reliable talaga☺️

  My only question here is.. Why buy a ship that has VLS but not actually order it with VLS. This and her sister ship the Jose Rizal are technically corvettes. Limited anti-ship, ASW and air defense capabilities, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. One has to consider limitations of a nation’s defense budget. But acquisition of a platform but not actually getting its full capability is a bit odd. Why not get a platform that originally doesn’t have a VLS? From what I understand, the Philippines has installed CIWS to their frigates. Which is a good move. As the two French anti-air launchers aren’t tied into actual search/targeting radar systems. Manuallly operated.

  If this ship is not armed, this is useless! Why you have to send a ship in the middle of nowhere which has no means to defend itself, and if this is destroyed or sunk we will just file a diplomatic protest? We are so naive and impractical. U.S. coast guard ships are heavily armed and even have anti-ship missiles installed. Chinese ships are armed, too. Hanggang pa cute lang kasi PCG ships natin kaya hindi pinaniwalaan ng foreign ships, gusto yata makipag-biso biso lang ang coast guard natin. What a waste of money, mabuti pa ibigay sa mga mangingisda natin ang barko nila at lumalaban pa.
