How to say, this anime wouldn't be a good recommendation for people who likes and prefers monogamy, ( like me ) i started disliking the anime the moment i saw what Rudeus's dad Did, he committed adultery with their maid, while HIS wife was pregnant with Norn... Polygamy and such relationship dynamics were prominent or just normal thing to have in that era, so it cant really be judged on the current views on marital vows and obligations...😅

Rudeus as a person is consistently the worst part of the show. Fantastic visuals and world building. The story of most characters is compelling and interesting. I really don’t like the “holier than thou” perfect characters in most fantasy/isekai. But it’s one thing to have a flawed MC and another one to have this fucking guy. Seriously, it’s just gross to see his attitude. I get he’s supposed to be a self insert for incels but it’s so unbelievably morally disgusting to see him. Maybe he does have redeeming qualities but those don’t make up for all the shitty things he does and definitely don’t excuse the borderline pedophilia.

You know actually in the light novel Rudeus wasn't going to Marry Roxy but then Elinalise told him that Roxy was pregnant which he told his family in this scene and later on Roxy was confused about this because it wasn't true. Elinalise lied to Rudeus to get him to make a decision. Stuff like that was cut by the original creator of the story when working with the anime team so this story would have a wider appeal. Everyone in the light novel are way worst people.

I wont be watching the three season. Sylphie is a pushover she literally does whatever Rudy wants. You can tell from her character since the beginning she doesn't value herself and thinks she is not good enough. Rudy just a old man using young girls. I thought they was going to move pass his pervert ways. This would have been a great anime without this crap.

I always find it kinda funny the number of people who take this seriously enough to get offended by it. 1. It’s fictional 2. She literally said she knew perfectly well what she was getting into marrying him and he wasn’t the one making moves 3. Arguing that self-reflection should automatically mean the person initiates self-improvement is a fallacy. Every person in this world has flaws, most are capable of seeing these flaws, but very few (proportionally) actually initiate self improvement. Making the argument that he saw his dad as morally wrong for cheating, then he shouldn’t have cheated is not realistic at all in fact there’s a reason loyalty is a virtue. If his dad was a cheat and he’s openly a pervert, Sylphy would have to be an absolute idiot to not expect this exact situation. The mere fact that Roxy made moves on him after saving him and he’s actually straight up marrying her as his second wife is already WAY more than what would be expected of a blatant pervert with a father who was known for sleeping around, of course Sylphy isn’t upset. Applying our worlds virtues and morals is nonsensical for all those reasons, but the biggest reason it’s nonsensical is because even our real world doesn’t abide by those morals, the ones who do may be a majority but it’s not exactly a big gap. Rudeus LOVES all his 3 wives, and all of them love him and are friends with one another, polygamy is perfectly acceptable in their world as it used to be in ours. At least he’s thinking with his heart alongside his d*ck instead of solely his d*ck. Lots of guys irl can’t even manage that. He loves his wives and they love him it’s that simple, none of them have a problem with each other being multiple wives, if they’re not upset then it makes no sense for anyone else to be upset. People can be so quick to judge when in reality they’re usually just as flawed, just in a different area of morality, and worse is that it’s done even when the judger has no place to be judging. Are you Rudeus? Are you his wife? If both answers are no, then all you need to know is that they’re all ok with it and it’s not harmful to any of them or anyone else, ergo, stfu.

Facts one of My favorite parts of this series is the massive outrage it brings out its hilarious. Not only this but Eris leaving hatred all kinds of shit 😂. When you try to explain why something happened its instantly "Why are you making excuses and justifying this" when its not about justifying or excuses its why things happened why the character accepts the situation Rudeus himself says he is a scumbag nothing to excuse there
