Randomly Generated Colors
Hi! I'm Mateusz from Board Game Colors. This channel is all about the art of miniature painting. You will find videos about various hobby-related topics, including painting tutorials, product comparison, technique breakdowns. There will probably be some stupid jokes as well.
Apart from miniature painting, I plan on doing some reviews and interviews, but for now, let's maybe just see where we will go together :)
You will also sometimes see my partner Furkot the Cat as well - he is a true star of this channel.

Thank you
Really good work, they look fantastic. I'm way too scared to attempt anything like this with mine!
With all due respect, having to mix that many paints in those ratios doesn't really count as 'fast and easy' lol Otherwise, a great tutorial and color scheme!
Great video 😊
Dobra robota! Tego szukałem!
Hi, how did you solve gripping of that wooden stick to the miniature bottom during spray-painting?
I used adhesive putty, specifically Blue Tack. I also know Patafix is similar.
Thank you for the video. Mine won´t be so beautiful but at least I know where to start now.
For the filter, would it work mixing black and negro blue paints with water to get the same effect? I’m a beginner and making the mix with paint, ink and medium seems a bit intimidating to me at this stage. So trying to replicate the same effect but with an easier construction of the filter.
Hey. I'm pretty sure it won't be the same, but you can try it on a mini, and if you don't like the effect, repaint it (priming and all). It very much depends on your paints, how they are made, how intense (pigmented) they are.
@@randomlygeneratedcolors7889 Thanks, in that case I’ll try with the ink and paint recipe. I was lost for a while trying to find paynes blue ink (that doesn’t exist), then I found the right name in the description is paynes grey. 😂
@@YasminMunro Yup, I used Paynes Grey, sorry if I made a mistake somewhere in a video. I would say any other Ink would work, i.e. Liquitex. If you have Contrast / instant paints form some hobby brands, some very dark blue should also work, and You won't need to dilute it this much.
Fantastica!!! Ma hai colorato tutte le miniature di nemesis? Penso che adotterò questa tecnica per dipingere le mie! Inizio tra poco! Grazie per il video!!!
Great video!
Прикольно 😊 2:05
Well, painted really adds to the bling.. I think it it is worth it. It will bother me if my miniatures are painted and the tokens are not. Ocd socks. Excellent work.
Thanks. OCD can be problematic in this hobby :)
Thank you for these tutorials! They helped me immensely in figuring out how to get the charred earth look that I want for my sculpture!
I'm glad to hear that. Give me a shout out on insta, so I can see them :)
Ok so really random but do you have a link or can you share the picture of the shapes and shadows? i would love to print that out for my own reference. I tried googling it, but I didn't like the ones I found. Thanks in advance!
Do you mean general shapes, or specific for this mini? For general purposes I use a book "artists master series color & light" (really awesome book), in other cases I sometimes use a flashlight and take a photo.
Nice
Great tutorial. Thank you for the effort and time put in to it.
Great video! Insead of q-tips maybe give a cheap makeup sponge a try for removing the oils. Is cheap as well and no damage or cotton hairs that stick onto sharp parts of the mini. You could technically speaking even clean up the sponges and use them again, but Im most times too lazy for that.
Thanks for a good tip! (no pun indended). I'll try it out.
Great tutorial , reckon as a beginner I can actually get a good effect with these tips. Cheers
That's such a cool video! Nice colour and explanation ! Thank you
Thanks. I'm glad this video is still useful after such a long time.

Dobra robota Mati ❤
Dziękuję :)
any suggestions for what kind of brush set would work the best?
Well, I'm not really can of sets. But for drybrushing get yourself cheap make-up brush, for details Kolynsky sable has no competition, I use Raphael 8404 size 1. For filters and washes - cheapest one you can get, or some really old - this techniques destroy brushes.
Looks so great and easy ! Pretty sure that when I'll get the game, it will take me 9 hours to put the filter on 😆
I bet you can do it! 🔥
should the mixed colors that serve as filter be like contrast paints? it looks pretty similar to me
It's very similar. Contrasts are a bit thicker, so they od gather a little bit more in the recesses. General idea is the same. I would say that zenithal cost and metallics underneath are more important.
Thank your for your awesome videos. Very good explanations. I like your etherfields videos very much. Are you creating more content for that game?
Thanks! Recently I lost my inspiration and I really don't feel like doing any videos. I might come back in the future, but I probably won't cover any more Etherfields. Sorry :(
Your reflection on the logic of your paint mixing is tremendously helpful for a neophyte. Thank you.
How's this fast? It just seems a normal painting technique 😅 beautiful though
I like рашэн эксэнт
You didn’t put a wash in the end. The pink won’t fade in Nicely and i think it won’t look nice on a closer look. Also putting the pink for the tendons and the protection on the legs doesn’t make sense. Still some nice skills to copy but Also a lot of room for improvement.
Well, thanks for the comment. Please keep in mind I was aiming for a speed painting process, so I'm not expecting people to take a closer look at those minis. About washes - I don't even use washes in most of my paint jobs, so I don't really understand your first sentence. And about pink placement - hard to argue with you. Still, I like it from an esthetic point of view. I'm glad you found something useful in the video. There is always room for improvement :)
The purple was a big mistake.
Why do you think so?
Daje łapkę w górę za kielona od żołądkowej😀
🍻
nice, but is a shame her face looks horrible, but i supposed if her face looked realistic the price would go to the heaven :d
That happens a lot with board game minis. Happily AR is getting better with their production in following games.
Porque tan pocas visitas ?
A KZread todavía no le gusto :(
Super malowanie! Mam kilka pytań po filmie: 1. Czym mogę zastąpić Daler&Rowney Payne's Grey Ink? Vallejo German Grey byłoby ok? 2. Zamiast mieszanki z Scalecolor Inktensity Red mogę użyć Vallejo Wash Brown albo Citadel Shade - Reikland Fleshshade? Ewentualnie, który wash da podobny efekt? 3. Na końcu mówiłeś o użyciu Matt Varnish - należy pomalować tym całą figurkę? Dzięki za odpowiedź, to będzie moje pierwsze malowanie. :)
Hej. Cieszę się, że się podoba. Odpowiadając na pytania: 1. German Grey jest za szary. Ten ink jest bardziej granatowy. Generalnie poszukaj ciemnoniebieskiej farby. Inku używam głównie ze względu na to, że jest rozwodniony. 2. Wash Brown będzie ok. 3. Generalnie pomaluj wszystko poza elementami, które chcesz, żeby były błyszczące, np ostrza.
Absolutely amazing. Such beautiful work.
Thanks :)
You are amazing! So glad I found your channel. You deserve so many more viewers. Love your clear explanations. Much appreciated!
Hey, thanks! I'm now making a little break from KZread, but I'll definietely be back with some more videos :)
wow, mega!
Dzięki :)
Great vid, well presented. Thanks.
Really nice video man! Thank you!

Powodziania! Pochwal się jak już skończysz :)
Wow, You are amazing in coloring miniatures. The shading the highlights and colors are so fantastic. You have great skills, my friend. I have learned a lot, you have explained it so well. Fully watch and full support to your beautiful channel.👏🏼👍🏻⭐️
It's very different then canvas art, but I think we can use each other tricks :)
Fantastic lesson of color theory and great filming, my friend. Great and interesting content. Very helpful💕
Thank you Nayda. Glad you like it!
The light glow effect is wonderful!! Very nicely done and looks absolutely real!! Im so happy to find your channel and have subscribed!!!
Great to hear that :)
WOW! Impressive!
Glad you like it!
Moar paintings! :D
I'm not sure what I like the most, the freehand background or the crystals. Great job:)
<3
"Wha-bam!" you definitely crushed it for your first print!
I hope my following ones will end up as good. Is it that common to fail the print?
@@randomlygeneratedcolors7889 not if someone takes the time to dial their machine in with test prints, or uses tested settings and doesn't involve the ever-present human element. :)
@@vaughn.reynolds Well, I probably was a second case - didn't tweak anything in a printer. Thanks for a tip :)
We're glad you joined the Archvillain family and that you took the time to make this awesome diorama! Bravo!
Well, I'm glad you are making these awesome models. I think we are even :)
