Sarafian Salleh

Sarafian Salleh

Since childhood, I have desired a life rich in learning, creativity, and exploration. I seek to understand the world from multiple perspectives, strive for excellence in various disciplines, and aim to make a meaningful contribution to society. These desires fuel a lifelong journey of discovery and self-improvement that unknowingly defines the essence of a Renaissance man.

I am a mechanical engineer, a licensed tour guide and an author. I am a Mechanical Engineer with over 30 years of experience in vibration analysis. I also run regularly and share my experiences in my channel to encourage friends and viewers the joy keeping fit. My research on some key locations have yielded interesting finds of untold stories of our country. Through these discoveries, I will share with the press and public on the importance of these sites and its historical impact to Singapore.

Thank You.

Kudos, That was a full list of theatres in Singapore. I was waiting for my childhood - Venus and Golden City in Queenstown and got it. Not sure if I miss Diamond theatre here. Thank You for the Good old memory.🎉

There was a cinema at the junction of Dover and Clementi Roads. Don't remember it's name but it was probably a British Army establishment. It screened movies till 1978, as I moved to the new Clementi estate then, and I probably caught a Bruce Lee flick there.

Btw, Astra Seletar inside Seletar Camp was not open to the public when I was doing full time NS in1971. It was meant for the families of the British soldiers staying inside the camp. But we NS men were allowed to watch the movies on the basis that we wear full NS uniforms plus paying a cinema ticket of about $1.20. Members of the public cannot walk into the camp as there were guards checking every visitors at the main camp entrance..

I find it really unfair and unjust and I am jealous that not everyone is allowed to visit and see the inside view. Why there is special privileged and preferences given to the king of a certain place. Very unjust it should be fair. Allow then allow everyone. If not allowed not allowed anyone. Wow what a superiority was given this person. I can’t describe that how much jealous I am after watching this.

National Theatre at Fort canning i think only for arts performance and cultural performances? Not movie theatre. Overall very nostalgic video. I heard from older people that back in 60s can smoke inside theatres and public transport LOL

😮🙏 Brought back glimpses of so many flashes of old memories of the 1990s Singapore ... OMG! 1990s were about 34 years ago in year 2024! Still remembered the Embro backpacks , Casio digital watches , Tamiya Speed-Trax motorized model car racers that school kids played at some HDB void-deck corners , Sony Walkmans , MRT Trains , Trans-Island & SBS Buses' Station / bus-stopping purple-lighted Chimes , Wisma Atria near Orchard MRT Station still has their basement Aquarium with mini Sharks , HMV , Borders , Long John Silver , A&W , The old Funan Centre , Gramophone CD / Video shops , Art Friends & CD Rama outlets , Esprit shops , POSB Bank branches , Orchard Road Glutton Street , 8Days in paper forms , Calvin Klein parfumes , Crumpler pouches , comfortable Toyota Crown taxis , Doctor Martin boots , Employees Oriented HR in most companies , Old Jurong BirdPark , Pager , Ericsson , Nokia , Siemens , Motorola brick phones ... & the many family members , school mates & colleagues that had left us since ... 🙏 Thank You So Much for bringing back some of the old 1990s Singapore treasured memories ... 🙏🌷🌿🌍✌💜🕊🇸🇬🇲🇾
