I will likely try this although I only need the lower part of a telephone pole for my street diorama. I was trying to make on to same scale as diorama and figures (1/12) and googling diameter of standard telephone poles it seems like a 2" diameter dowel rod would be more accurate, but that likely will be too heavy and take up more room than I like for my diorama which is only about 16" wide. U think a 1" rod would pass as a telephone pole for my diorama?
