I could never buy new construction. 80s and older, thats all i want. Modern houses are built with cheap labor using cheap materials, they just fall apart

You would think otherwise with all new building codes and guidelines that are put in place each year.
@@vinblack85 wearing your seatbelt had been a law for 50 years and people still don't do it. I'm in construction, renovation specifically. The quality of lumber and premade goods, like cabinets, all absolutely suck. The cabinets we get are custom order and they still come split, miscolored, and sometimes even very obvious scrap pieces used to complete their side of the work. Screws snap on a minute by minute basis when using them. Hell, take a good ol' trip down to your local lumber yard and tell me how many 2x4's are perfect for building, I'd bet it's close to 0. Tonnes of knots and dry rot, all twisted and water damaged, split, etc.

I paid almost 400k for my house in Cali like 10 years ago! Was built in 1989 looks no where near as beautiful as this! But I bet it’s built better lol 😆 new homes are fucking trash now a days

@@daveymcc1421 your numbers are off… Mortgage with T&I = $3890 Taxes are $875 per month HOA is $87.50 per month Utilities is $250 per month (electric, gas, water) Not sure why you would have $1800 in car payments (that’s the issue right there) Car insurance should be $200-250 for a full coverage 2 car policy. $1000.00 for food is accurate for a family of 4-5 Affordability is based on your income and how you handle your finances. In Vancouver, British Columbia. You can’t buy a property for $350k. Not even like 75sqft of just land. Maybe around $6.5 million USD for the equivalent of that home in Fort Worth.
