Mat 11:2-6 اور یُوحنّا نے قَید خانہ میں مسِیح کے کاموں کا حال سُن کر اپنے شاگِردوں کی معرفت اُس سے پُچھوا بھیجا۔ کہ آنے والا تُو ہی ہے یا ہم دُوسرے کی راہ دیکھیں؟ یِسُوؔع نے جواب میں اُن سے کہا کہ جو کچھ تُم سُنتے اور دیکھتے ہو جا کر یُوحنّا سے بیان کر دو۔ کہ اندھے دیکھتے اور لنگڑے چلتے پِھرتے ہیں۔ کوڑھی پاک صاف کِئے جاتے اور بہرے سُنتے ہیں اور مُردے زِندہ کِئے جاتے ہیں اور غرِیبوں کو خُوشخبری سُنائی جاتی ہے۔ اور مُبارک وہ ہے جو میرے سبب سے ٹھوکر نہ کھائے۔ (URD) یوحنا کے پوچھنے کے مطابق کہ آنے والا تُو ہی ہے یا ہم دُوسرے کی راہ دیکھیں؟ کیا یسوع مسیح واضع جواب نہیں دینا چاہیے تھا کہ آنے والا مسیح میں ہوں۔ لیکن یسوع مسیح نے اقرار کرنے کے بجاے اپنے معجزات اور لوگوں کے شفا پانے کے بارے میں کیوں بتایا۔ سوال چنا جواب گندم کیا مطلب ہے۔ یوحنا کے شاگرد تو پہلے بھی confusion میں تھے اور جواب ملنے کے بعد بھی confusion تھے؟
