    Thank you. Really helpful as always. It was particularly useful to me including the torso to see how the arm position related to it and articulated with it x

    Glad it's helping. The next topic will be neck and shoulders, and that'll cover the basics of the figure. Then we'll do some clothing sketches.

    I like the pen you use, what is it? I saw Papermate something. You've got me rethinking sketching with fine liners and ball point. Is there a reason you use a felt tip or was it just handy? Love your videos btw

  • @artofsedone
    @artofsedone11 сағат бұрын

    It's a Papermate Flair medium point felt tip pen. For a long time my favorite pen to sketch with was a Precise v5 rollerball. I like using that with smoother paper such as Moleskine. I didn't have a rollerball so I used a felt tip pen, which also works better on the rougher paper of my current sketchbook. Thanks for asking!

    Those faces look good, but they're all frontal views. The value of the circle method is that it makes it easier to rotate the head any way you want, because placing the features correctly from certain angles can be quite a challenge.

    Great drawing ideas, it's sad that YT doesn't promote really valuable content and you have so few views. When you type the word "art" into a search engine, kitschy pictures made of bubble foam or melted wax crayons are shown... And not valuable artists like you.

    This opens up a whole new world for me. So far i am used to trying the figure sketching from the "anatomical position" which is pretty unnatural compared to what you have shown today. Im going to give this a try. I think its going to be difficult to make the person look balanced and in proportion but i will use some reference pictures - perhaps of dancers or sports people. Thank you

  • @artofsedone
    @artofsedone7 күн бұрын

    With gestures, go for the feel of the pose, rather than accuracy. When you study anatomy and proportion, focus on accuracy. Eventually all those things will come together. Glad you liked the video!

    Your videos are very helpful to me. It’s a different experience listening to your conversation, perspective and thought processes as you sketch - as opposed to learning from a book. The book is useful but in a different way. Your videos give me a way to think about the subject and a method to do it. In addition “permission” to experiment and not to try for any kind of perfection. It has a playful element to it with no pressure. I can’t thank you enough. Thank you x
