My name is Psyklax, and welcome to my channel, Psyklaxia. I review hacks and fan translations of video games from different systems, as well as homebrew games and tutorials explaining how to hack games yourself.
New video every Sunday at 09:15 UTC!
All game footage is recorded by me, and everything is LOSSLESS up to the point of KZread's encoding. I use free software to make all of my videos:
Avisynth (video editing)
Wavosaur (audio editing)
Virtualdubmod (lossless video encoding)
Different emulators (Bizhawk, FCEUX, Virtual Boy Advance et al)

If I'm not mistaken it was also used by NASA for the moon landing in '69 🙄🤔
Captive down at 216? Madness, pure and simple.
Well done and I have played games like Qwak, Wiz & Liz... on an Amiga 500+. Do you know an Amiga (mini) game where you could create a band (I think it was bears) and get a chart placement 🍹
Because Scooby and Scrappy Doo is better than Mega lo mania?!!
Chaos Engine....Cannon Fodder....Desert strike....Most definitely....Superfrog...& while not unique to the Amiga...The Sentinel. We all could go on. But where did our youth go??
Pirates! was missing from the list... Played dozens of hours on that.
Moonstone, Shufflepuck Café? Did I miss them or did the list miss them?
I missed Lost Patrol in this List. One of my favourites after the Guybrush Threepwood -Thing
I miss Giana sisters, Ports of call, and Hostages. Beside from that, a very good presentation. Thank you!
Cool list. Plenty of games better with Atari ST though. Pure polygonal bliss with Atari. And the top one was created with ST's colour palette in mind. Like all the other Bitmap's classics.
I have an old Commodore Amiga 500.It's 36 years old and works.I'm going to throw it away.
The good old days of gaming,,funit was
283 Golden Axe?😩
An honorable mention should've been The 3 Stooges. That blew me away as a kid despite the lackluster gameplay
17:02 Metallica One?
Lol... yes, same riff !
I wonder why the Rick Dangerous games had no music.
Still have my amiga 500 and games and still works
There was a dispute between Amiga Power and Team 17, so that's why they didn't review well some of their games.
Imagine coming across an Amiga All Time Top 300 list and you haven't even heard of probably half of it while also half of the games you had and loved are just blatantly missing... (too lazy to list them all, others have mentioned most of them in the comments, probably) That just proves there's been so many great games, what a time in gaming!
Risky Woods is the best imo.
Wow, these games look like crap. Be smart, buy an Atari
Wings at number 232 ?!? Easily one of the best top 10 games.
It’s got to be The Secret Of Monkey Island for me. Memories of that game are as good as anything since. Happy to see Speedball II at the top spot. That game was addictive and drove every competitive instinct. The Amiga was a ground-breaking platform. Amiga Power added another dimension to it.
Cannon Fodder and Sensi Soccer were my top games on the Amiga. I was surprised how low down Fodder was 🤔
The best magazine was german Power Play! They actually did know what they were talking about!
Where the hack are Unreal and Wrath Of The Demon??? 😲 And where is Accolade with Test Drive II - The Duel and Grand Prix Circuit? It Came From The Desert?
North Sea Inferno!
R.V.F. Honda, Shufflepuck Cafe, Menace, BLOODMONEY!, X-Out, Agony, Giana Sisters, Z-Out and Xenon 2 Megablast are missing. :( Lotus III and Stryx too.
Indianapolis 500 should be driven with a mouse and the grphics options should be set at low, if you are playing on an ECS or OCS Amiga, because framerate is key for car control.
Turrican is WAY more than a few extra levels AND it is FAR more advanced graphically and musically! Not a bit better, MUCH better!
A 40cm 4:3 CRT would be the best to really appreciate the graphic fidelity at the time. Our 51cm Philips CRT was not bad, but already a little too large. The SNES however had more colors on screen than OCS/ECS Amiga, but lacked the resolution compared to it.
The scrolling on Shadow Of The Beast was smooth as butter, but not on your footage.
Saint Dragon laughable!
Dragon Breed higher than Turrican??? No way!
Batman: The Movie has such ugly graphics, especially for a relatively late game. Super Cars has the better gameplay than Super Cars II.
Ah the good old days.
So many great games were missing... and a lot of the 300 were not great to be honest.. I would have had The Clue in my top 10 let alone top 100...
SERIOUSLY?!?! 🤔 Your telling me that THOSE games were voted for by Amiga Power MORE than lets say, Panza Kick Boxing, Metal Masters, Moonstone a hard days knight, Wonderboy, Waxworks, Sid Meier's Pirates, UFO Enemy Unknown, Road Rash, Ninja Warriors, Castlevania, Battle Chess, Wings, Black Crypt, Crystal Dragon.... you know, games that ARE actually decent (both gameplay AND graphics wise), addictive, with good replay value and that ACTUALLY show off what the Amiga was capable of?!?! Whatever that algorithm you used was, it doesn't know a DECENT game from a hole in the ground!!! Their were LOADS more amazing Amiga games and memorable titles missing off this so called top 300 Amiga games OF ALL TIME that never even made the cut of honourable mentions?!?! WTF dude???😬It just goes to show, Amiga Power didn't know SHIT!!! That's one of the reasons I stopped buying it back in the day, I mean the ONLY saving grace for them was when they started issuing those nice little demo disks that had like 5 or 6 games (demos obviously) giving you a little preview of up and coming titles that were due for release so that you could kinda try before you buy sorta thing?! But other than that, THEIR (Amiga Powers) choice of so called GOOD games TOTALLY sucked when you consider the games that never got a mention from them!!! 🤔
Quick tip for defender of the crown...if you want unlimited lives press K while it was loading.
No top anything list is worth its salt if it doesn't have Cybercon III :)
Great video! Love Amiga games, still play them!
Forgot about Hunter. What a game that was!
I watched the entire video and thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Thank you so much for taking the time to put together something truly wonderful.
Almost random ranking, gitgud bro
nice list
I can't wait for the A500 maxi. I didn't miss out on playing with the Amiga as a kid but I never owned one. It's easily the best computer and console from 1987-1995, blowing away sega, nintendo and DOS. Windows 95 made PC king, though.
Software makes the hardware. Without DOOM, Sam & Max and Day Of The Tentacle, the Amiga was doomed.
Just to name a few memorable mentions of my own: Benefactor Space Taxi Magic Pockets Cosmic Spacehead Lethal Weapon Moonstone Super Methane Bros Quak Test drive Alfred Chicken Robin Hood ATR All Dizzy titles Elf Mania Rise of the Robots Great Giana Sisters Midnight Resistance It came from the Desert I spent a lot of time on Space Taxi. Not sure if some of you would remember it. Very addictive.
The best games on the Amiga used the mouse, because Commodore crippled the machine as far as platform games go by refusing to provide a two (or even three) button gamepad or joystick even though even the A500 was capable or recognising it. It should have had better platform and fighting games than the consoles. Instead we were trying to push up for jump. If they had done that and adopted the CD earlier we would probably be playing games on Amigas today instead of PCs.
Up for jump is the right way to play, though.
Alien breed tower assault, pang
