  Kandy was the last kingdom of sri lanka. The temple palace area and the lake was built by king wimaladharmasyriya the first in late 16 century . There were 13 kings in kandyan kingdom. However in 1815 british captured the kandyan kingdom and ended the sri lankan royal history by capturing the last king of sri lanka,sri wickrama rajasnighe. He was the one who decorated the city as you can see now. By the way your channel is so good. Im very happy to see a punjabi cuple traveling here. Good luck.🎉🎉.

  Nice video. I notice one thing though. You wear turban or cap always. It may be because of your religion. I saw you wearing your turban in Mihintale near the Stupa. But we as Buddhists don't wear caps when we visit Stupa or Sri Maha Bodi. We believe it is a disrespect to the Buddha. We remove shoes and caps always.
