@andythemunroeater9884 Hey Andy, just that 1st summit for me in the clouds. As soon as I descended to the Bealach and looked back up guess what?......it had cleared.🤣🤣🤣 Yeah ,Mam Barrisdale pass walkout was not as good condition I thought it would be.The middle section was a bit of a bogfest,eh ?😱 1st time after a walk sitting watching a sunset beside a tent was awesome.Good bit of chat with fellow campers. I have 7 left to go now.Choosing my weather wisely now for heading out.U will not be far behind me the speed and numbers u do each trip, lol. Big respect for ur effort pal.😃👏👏

Great seeing the view we could've had 🤣 that reminds me of the game show Bullseye,, here's what you could've won 🤣 I'm on 150 after my last trip, so still got a way to go. Thanks for the respect 👊🏻. Cracking Andy and thanks for the views! We were over a few weeks ago and didnt see a thing for the three munros! Committed to boomings and holidays 😢😢😢. We took a different ascent route though. I wasnt walking up all those ferns so we continued up the track a fair bit and cut straight up the hill. It was steep but mostly grassy. After we got to the first one it was just rain clouds and winds...it was cracking to see it all clear up for you! Looked amazing 😊.What about the walk back? A long way eh!, a real toughie. Maybe i will go back another time! Well done on the camping too! Did you sleep well? 😂😂😂😂😂Paul

Hi Tom,in good weather I would say the descent route I took was easy to follow. If the weather changed the Cuillin Ridge is a whole new ball game.I ran into trouble on the ridge last year in Coire Ghrunnda.Clouds were so thick I could only see about 30 ft in front of me and nearly ended up Cragfast.Had to abort the climb.Due to this experience in the past,if the weather was clouded in or not looking too good before I set off for Am Basteir ,I would have left it for another day especially being up there solo.😃👍

Thanks Paul.First time on a e-bike and what a difference.🤣🤣👍 My 1st attempt at this route was a disaster due to being exhausted after the cycle and only managed An Socach.See heading back out and driving down the road that day knowing fully that I have to go back in there ,it was awful.😱 1hr 10 mins to get to the hostel this time and was buzzing for the walk ahead.Only 1 more bike/Hike left for me now at Poolewe.😃👍

@@AndyOB nice one! So much easier on the e-bike! I think one more option to use the bike for me is Glen Affric too! After that there’s not much left on this round 🥴🥴🥴

Thanks, Frank. Some difference with me hiring an e-bike.🤣👍 I was gubbed last time I tried this route and flung my bike in a bush just after the West Affric signed bridge and walked the rest to the Hostel.🤣🤣Done the cycle in 1 hour 11 mins and was off the bike just for the push up over the bridge at Strawberry cottage and walked up the hill after it. Drove up Friday after work Started from Car Park at 5.30 am. 11 hrs 49 mins car to car. Drove down the road via Fort Bill and home for about 11.15pm Saturday night.😎👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

First time on a E-Bike Tam and what a difference.Last time I was in here I ditched the bike well before the Hostel as I found the track energy sapping.Only done An Socach that day as my legs were gubbed.Done the whole cycle with ease on this bike.1 hr 10 mins on the way in and I think I was even faster on the way out with 1 hr 5mins.🤣🤣👍

Thanks for ur nice comment Marco.Glad u enjoyed the video.I've always put my videos up as a keepsake memory for myself of a day out.If a fellow hiker gets a help from it on the route that's even better.Never been one to advertise my channel or ask folk to like and subcribe.Always nice to get a comment like this.😀👍

I only have a road bike. Do you think the track is good enough for some more rugged (puncture resistant) 28mm tyres to handle?

  • @AndyOB

Most of the track up to Loch Pattack is a very good conditioned gravel road. It's only when you cut over to the bothy it gets a bit rough and muddy for a couple of km's.
