"Whatever role we play in society, when we listen to music we become aware of a different part of our being. We tend to listen to music with our immortal spirit, and that is the same, no matter what role we play. That is the same whoever we are." --Pepe Romero

The greatest of teachers.
❤❤❤
How wonderful and how many details I could learn about playing the guitar, music and life! Thank you very much!❤
Around 03:45 Nadaka says, "In South of India .. we don't care as much about the time of the day for particular modes." On the contrary, i have found Indian music schools of music to be extremely fastidious about the modes played at specific times of the day, and even include considerations for the seasons and occasions apart from time of day. Maybe i misunderstood Sri Nadaka ji's context, but what i heard him say here didn't sound right.
Remember shakti
What is the name of this instrument? Can I buy it online???
Perfect! What a joy to see and hear. It's pure magic!
Amazing!! Thank you
super relaxing, amazing instrument, I enjoined a lot. Thank you
Very nice and relaxing
Music should be a liberating experience. Once Mr. Romero started talking about philosophical things, the boy became nervous and lost his spontaneity. The kid played beautiful.
"Detachment, free mind." Yes indeed
Được một nhạc sư đáng kính như pê pê chỉ dạy là niềm tự hào lớn lao.
Thanks for this. Very Interesting
Wonderful instrument, magically played. The whole video just flown by! Amazing work!
Musician, troubadour, minstrel, Latin lover, comic and above all an inspiration to children. You’re an exceptional artist. I hope we meet one day🎉
Learn English first before you comment you bozzo
Your explanations suck ...
Marvellous. A kind of short form Raga fusion style. Well done sir. Brought a big smile to my face. Oh, and what a fantastic creation this instrument is. Beautifully made too.
Masterclass?? More like mediocre class, I feel sorry for poor Pepe what a waste of his time, watch any masterclass on youtube even the worst student is 10 times better.
Great instrument and playing...I too am trying with a guitar to evoke Indian music; kzread.info/dash/bejne/lpdn18WRZbion7A.html
Fabulous fusion harmony
I work near this spot, and really miss his busking. It was amazing hearing him play on my walks to starbucks or the nordstrom coffee window.
This video is still a favorite of mine. He's not just playing the guitar, he's playing everything that is around him -- the traffic, the people walking by, the hard sidewalks, roads, and buildings reflecting the sounds -- it's all part of this music.
I think I (tonJa) worked with you back in early 2000s at Port of Portland. How are you?
Hi Tonja! How're you? Still in Seattle? I'm fine thanks.
@@smithrockneil1 I really thought it was only a remote possibilty I would get a get a reply. I'm in Northern Virginia now. I still listen to Brooklyn Funk Essentials now and then 🙂. Your guitar skills and musicality are amazing!!
@@tmpekic1 Thank you so much for the compliment! Are you playing guitar? I've been meaning to reply for awhile but the days run away. I Got Cash by the BFE is still one of my favorite all time songs. What brought you to Northern Virginia? How do you like it? I sometimes find myself in Laurelhurst and remember you lived there.
@@smithrockneil1 Another former Neil coworker here (Aaron). I worked with Neil many years ago at a web dev firm in the early 2000s. Beautiful playing, Neil! Hope all is well.
@@VeganCheeseburger Hi Aaron! I'm doing fine, thanks. How're you? Are you playing guitar?
Gracias por la canción tan bonita.
Such integrity and QUALITY in its purist form. Thank you.
Mahadev would like
Tickles all of my musical desires...
Everyone who plays gavotte-choro should listen laurindo’ s version first. Thats how the piece should be played. Most of the people play it too fast and with zero passion. Too mechanic.
super super Sir...i Love it ..Guruji....i love to learn...pls help me to learn....pleeeseeeeeeeeeeese..
Tuning?
No idea. His website is raqamantra.com.
Have to admit each time I watch this I am overjoyed by it's magic.
Beautiful music, playing and the instrument. Can anyone tell me? : Are all Raga guitars that expensive 6 or 7 thousand dollars? Are there guitars of this type available to buy at a much more budget price? I know one can experiment with a normal acoustic, doing some little cheap tricks to obtain a similar sound. The bottom line is- it will never be even close to one like this, even much cheaper model. Any comments welcome.
He picks like Marty Friedman haha
What an amazing work behind this instrument.
Omg this is so good😳
deeply resonates me, fully
Student: aaaaaaaaaa. Pepe: no, no, like this: aaaAAaaaAAAaa. Student: ok. aaaaaaaaaaaaa. Pepe: aaaAAaaaAAAaa. Student: aaaaaaaaaaaaa. I have never seen such unprepared and mediocre students at a master class before, except for the first kid (he's good!). They're not ready for a class of this level. The last guy can't even understand what Pepe says (and his guitar is out of tune, for crying out loud!).
I agree ,the first kid is good ,but the rest shouldn't even own a guitar, I don't know where they found this bunch.
He’s missed the main soul of Indian music. He played diatonically. He has no Indian attack, feel for 1/8,1/4 tones. He’s playing western music and failing in the truth.
May Godess Saraswati Bless You!
I first heard a sitar way back in the Super mario 64 days, I always loved the sound
Ravi Shankar in the 70s. George Harrison.
C'est juste une guitare avec des cordes sympathiques.
