The moment that Myungha saw the prompt, what someone needs or happiness, and in his own handwriting it showed his answer is Confidant (friends). Turns out before he fell asleep the Sunbae who wrote the novel handed him a survey to answer so that he can give more detail what Myungha means about Happiness more specifically. Then thats the time it showed the fondness level of Yeowoon to the people around him. It seems -20 was the normal for all and -100 for Yeowoon himself because he was having self hatred at that time, it was the gloomiest time of his life after all, people bully him, his grades in the Manhwa are mediocre, he has no job, his grandma died, and people bully him. Yeowoon felt like he is unlovable.

I read the Manhwa where it is based from, the original novel the Sunbae wrote was for the future i think, the protagonists of that novel the Sunbae wrote was the future girlfriend of Yeowoon and another guy. (So Yeowoon was supposed to give up the girl in the end to another guy, which was the main lead) Yeowoon was only a side character with very unfortunate circumstances up to the end which made Myungha frustrated towards the Sunbae who wrote it. So this is happening before Yeowoon meets that future girlfriend at a later age. Myungha btw is called the Mad Dog of the school, rumored to have take on 7 enemies on his own and win, though to Myungha, the rumor was exaggerated and he took down 3 of the 7 and a teacher stopped them, so he guessed he won that fight in that way. That got him the reputation, he was a rebellious kid when he was in highschool from the world he came from, so that same reputation and history was added to his character when he came into this world as 19 year old. He also got to meet his grandma when she was alive. Back when he was in his world, he did a lot of rebellious things and when his grandma died, he was remorseful and regretting all those time he gave her headache for all his rebelliousness.

Some explanation on this story: yes this is like a game that somehow transports the players in another world, but when you are wounded inside these Door Worlds, you will have the same wound outside (as per the series, the novel has a different rule). If you die, that also happens in our world, you will die in various ways, like accident, illness, m*urd** or s**c**e, Regardless of how you die inside these doors. That's how it happened in the novel. In the Door World, some Doors are different levels for everyone, some have it their 3rd Door, some their 1st Door. For rookies/newbies, their 1st door depends on how they are close to dying in the real world. Example, if you find that you have few months to live due to an illness, your first door will be easier. If say you have minutes before encountering death, then your first door will be more difficult. That is why many times you will encounter people who already have your Door world at a higher level. Then once you successfully survive your 1dt Door, your life is extended and recalculated as well the next doors onwards. Generally speaking, the 2nd Door is the easiest for everyone. Now for this Door world, actually their is no story of a family, nor wolf plague. The villagers all worship a female deity that protects and gives them prosperity in exchange for animal sacrifices, but those animals were gone for this winter so they opted for the visitors(players) to sacrifice them. That female deity is worse than looking like a Sadako, it hides its face while having spider-like limbs, wielding an axe, and massive long hair., its also gigantic. The killings are more morbid and gore. Actually in the whole book, all the killings are morbid. In the 2nd Door, some players organs were made into food 🤢 Though in the series, it was lessened a little and more of a horror with drama.

"I know this is not a BL", but the source material/novel is BL (tagged as ManxMan), and their lines on later episodes suggests more than bromance. Ruan also supposed to be crossdresses in this Door World according to the novel, and in the next Door World, Lin Jiushi's feelings develop a little more, he gets worried and his heart flutters for Ruan, his internal dialogues 😆, even he denies it, he knows. though these feelings are prominent when Ruan is dressed like a girl, it later on develops even when Ruan is his normal guy self in the novel. In this series, they removed the crossdressing part maybe due to preventing it being banned by govt at first review. Also, for less confusion to the viewers. When I read the novel, it was only revealed that Ruan was a crossdressing guy after they successfully finished this Door World, its quite some chapters before it was revealed, so for viewers of a live action, to lessen confusion, Ruan automatically is a guy dressed in traditional robes.😅

It reveals their past, always leaving something to be discovered, leading us to speculate what would have happened. I really value this strategy. I hope it continues at this vibrant pace.

It won't be fully BL (just so you won't be disappointed if you're expecting that) because it's censored by the Chinese government, so it will be just a bromance. But it's an adaptation of a BL novel (Kaleidoscope of Death).

The plots and world-building are always so incredible that it can stand by itself as an amazing read even without romance in it (which proves just how good and popular even the censored adaptations are), but the romance in it is also excellent, and it would be so great if we could have completed adaptations. There aren't enough truly good dramas with complicated plots and BL romance.
