    So it has the same bolt pressure pattern as a lee Enfield? It's not "hard" to pull the bolt but "harder" to push the bolt close?

  • @earltalatala
    @earltalatala2 ай бұрын

    Sorry i have no idea re enfield but its hard to pull the bolt because the pin hadnt cycled yet but if its "cocked" already it is easy, pushing seemed harder because of the angle before closing but after awhile youll get the trick

    Looks great. I love glossy stocks on my vintage hunting rifles with their gloss blued steel. Even the scopes have a gloss finish. The patterning in the Turkish walnut is incredible, so I want to keep my 334 with the original look. I'll likely do nothing more than wax to maintain the finish. The Stevens 334 is an outstanding value.

    THIS VIDEO IS NOT ACCURATE!! IT IS NOT INTENDED TO BE REMOVED. I talked to Savage about this and that spacer is part of their design. (Really deceiving) The rifle was on sale and I made the mistake of thinking that the spacer was part of their "Accufit" style stocks. THEY ARE NOT! You cannot shorten the LOP on these stocks at all. The only way you can customize the fit is with that specific Accufit system. It's very confusing why Savage would even make stocks with a spacer if they were not intended to be shortened. Terrible design on Savage and very confusing marketing. The rifle was on sale so I made the mistake of buying one based on this video and a few others. I bought it for my son for his birthday and now I am stuck trying to somehow modify it. I am sure I can figure something out but just warning to everyone else that is just as confused as I am with Savage's design.

    It would be nice if you could do a follow up video where you leave the spacer out and show how well the but pad fits up against the stock. Will it fit in the stock and screw in without trimming? Is there enough material on the recoil pad to grind a bit off the bottom so it matches the stock profile where they meet?

    Guns, like everything else, sold by names. Ruger 10/22 is NOT better than Savage 64F but almost twice the price. I had the 64FX for $119.99, half of that of a Ruger 10/22. Extremely accurate, reliable with some minor disadvantages like the awkward magazine release.
