  Actually, it's not the same house. Exactly the same layout though, but we lived in one right up the end, facing Bagshot Road. There was no road out the front, just a footpath and then vacant land. There's a pedestrian cutting through the land now, but back when I was a child there were two derelict cottages right in the middle. We were forbidden to play in the houses. We thought it was because they were haunted, but now as an adult, I realise our parents were afraid of walls or the roof collapsing on us while we played there. We didn't go there much, partly because we were scared and partly because there were too many stinging nettles in the grass around them.

  I was born in this house! Upstairs in the back bedroom, back in the 1960s when babies were mostly born at home. The downstairs has been reconfigured which threw me at first. There was a hallway to the right of the staircase, which has been taken out and the loungeroom extended to the stairs. On the left of the staircase there was a wall, and a storeroom on the other side. That has been knocked through and is now the hall on the left of the staircase. The upstairs layout hasn't changed. The outbuildings have been added and the patio enclosed. When I was a child it was open, with a sloping rockery to the lawn. I think my parents built it as the house was new when they moved in, early in 1960. There were at least 3 apple trees at the end of the garden and it looks like two are still there. In front of those was a raspberry patch and there were gooseberry bushes near the house and possibly a blackberry bush. We left there when I was 8, and five years after that, we emigrated to Australia. I have been back twice and looked at the house from the outside. I really missed that house when we moved. It seemed a whole lot bigger when I was a child.

  Lovely house , but use that garage ! For my classic motorbikes of 70's & 80's motorbikes. Not a added a room. Garden ? Have a gorgous pond in it. Not a boreing back garden

  Is a kitchen classed as a living space? So if an existing Gas boiler is installed within a Kitchen a CO detector must be installed from the 1st of October 2022? Or is CO detector only required when installing new gas appliances within living spaces?

  Hi, yes a kitchen is classed as a living space and you must have a carbon monoxide alarm whether the gas boiler is existing or newly installed.
