The helium escape valve is not for releasing pressure the deeper you dive in the water. Saturation divers have to stay at depths and have to come back to normal pressure in stages in a chamber. Helium being the smallest molecule, and part of the mix they breath, gets past the seals in the watch building pressure inside the watch when the chamber pressure is lowered. The crystal of the watch will eject as a result of the pressure building inside. This is why the HEV was invented. It releases pressure at about 2-3 ATM. It’s a spring loaded valve that “burps” when pressure inside builds past the spring pressure. In the water the spring holds the valve shut and the valve is sealed to a rubber gasket. As a diver goes down in the water pressure builds helping to further seal the piston against the gasket.

Beautiful watch ❤️ One big feature of the Day-date is you can make it more special by replacing the day wheel with any language you want. Just be prepared to wait for up to a year for RSC to get it done. I replaced mine with Cyrillic.
