2024 and New York never came back , the crime , lunatics that were kicked out of shelters to house the migrants ,has turned this city into a dangerous mess and the rent still going up . As of today , march 17 , 2024 traveling on the train has become extremely dangerous . Child labor and human trafficking are taking place in broad daylight and the streets look like a third world ( specifically Queens)and no one can’t do a thing . I really thought this city was going to bounce back after covd

Hi, Melanie! I know I'm a bit late but I've just started reading the Artist Way by Julia Cameron and as I was having a lot of trouble with the writing (my hand is too slow to keep up with my thoughts) I googled it and found your video. Loved it! Can you tell me the name of the app? I could not find it for Android 😪

I think if you just search “morning pages” it should come up! But if not, it’s possible it’s only on apple. I always assume apps works for both so that is unfortunate if it’s only Apple because it’s a great app!

I know we have different lives, but I feel similar to your position given we're the same age. I didn't go to college for four years, I did graduated with an associate's level degree and chose to pursue IT. I ended up hating my career choice, before that it was a wasted year at art college when I was 19. I am fortunate that I have an office job that pays my mortgage and bills, but anything extra I'm going to have to settle for either Uber Eats or a wage job. I can relate to the comments about our egos preventing us from working these jobs. I had to accept the fact that I am not entitled and maybe I am gonna have to return to Dunkin Donuts like I did 11 years ago and start over. I am single with no kids, I just feel like I'm going to take a big risk going to college and getting into debt again.

Im 32 and still live with my parents. Unfortunately my student loan debt made it virtually impossible for me to able to afford rent in my 20s (i live in the NYC metro area which is extremely expensive). Once i was finally making enough money to live on my own, COVID happened and people flocked to the suburbs. Ive actually got enough saved up for what would have been a decent downpayment a few years ago. Unfortunately the real estate market is so crazy now that even buying a condo isnt feasible. Whenever someone looks down on people in our generation living with our folks, it really showcases just how clueless they are about the current economic climate.

you get into a mental funk and start thinking about where you are in life and wonder if what would have happened if you ended up getting that job you applied and interviewed for or if a teacher you had in high school saw the potential in you and encouraged/motived you in right direction. you start to think about what you could have changed in your past that would have led you down a different path.

Ohh so true I used to do that all the time but I’ve learned to just appreciate the journey exactly as it is and all the lessons I’ve learned/am learning. We can’t control the past or future we can only control our actions and decisions in this moment and going forward! We just have to keep moving forward with intention. (Mostly just advice to myself😂)
