Years ago I had a couple of anoles in a terrarium. Cute, cool little critters, ate crickets. One escaped when my daughter was house sitting. Well, the cat was faster than her and nearly got the little green guy, until a couple of inches of tail dropped off. Cat didn’t want the tail and the anole was renamed Stumpy. 🇨🇦🖖🏻🇨🇦

Exactly what kind of stomach do these birds have?

Fascinating video. In my youth, finding the eggs and larvae of this butterfly on our carrot tops, I succeeded in rearing them through their entire life cycle, and during high school years, demonstrated the process for the biology classes. Same with monarch butterflies, hawk moths, and one year even with a caecropia moth. Nothing beats actual experience when it comes to nature study. Thanks. Hope some of today's young people get turned on to nature study like this !

All you have to do in order to attract the Black Swallowtails is put down Dill ( the herb ) & if they're in their chrysalis & feel a cold snap in your weather, they'll remain in their chrysalis all winter long until the following late Spring to emerge.

I used to have a pet Phidippus Audax (Bold Jumping Spider) that I took straight from the wild as a little kid. I feel so bad looking back on it because I bet I wasn’t the best caretaker, and it’s never a good idea to take animals from the wild. Beautiful animals though. I also remember keeping a Phidippus Regius (Regal Jumping Spider) and I remember it being hard for me to tell the difference, since the only real main difference is their size and a white stripe (to my knowledge).

I'm arachnophobic but can appreciate the beauty. This one has striking markings especially the bright green. 😊
