Couple of things you need top know. The ref had no reason top give you his or her name no matter what. Secondly, I read your article and even if you r right that the ref did miss calls, your opinion doesn't matter. The refs opinion does. In the case that he was making the right calls, letting play continue because of injury is the right thing to do under the FIFA laws of the game. So even if your player was in obvious pain, it doesn't matter. Thirdly, you need to accept that people are human. I am a ref and I make mistakes. It just matters that your accept them and move on. And yes, leaving the field without the referees permission like your goalie did is sanctionable with a yellow card. The referee was right.

Nope. No "vested interest." Merely that... 1. You're wrong that play automatically stops when a player is injured. 2. You're wrong that the referee "declares a forfeit". He reports the score to the league. The league determines the winner. (I'm guessing that one team refused to continue the match and the league decided against them?) 3. You're wrong that the referee is obligated to explain anything to you. Ever. He might... if approached the right way. Was a complaint filed?

Ah. I get it now. You've got a vested interest and I shouldn't get you started on how Sandusky is a hero. There's nothing that will change your mind. Well, thanks for making my video the hill to troll on. I hear your lesson, brother, and will change my ways. I appreciate you showing me the light.

At the younger ages, play is stopped very quickly for injury. As they get older, however, the referee will assess the situation and let play continue. Many parents have a hard time adjusting to this as their kids mature, since the referees at the U-littles stopped play so quickly. It's very possible that this referee did not adjust his whistle to the age-level appropriately. Of course I was not there for this instance. BTW: The coaches don't get to dissent. Their option is to refuse to play.

William, I updated the description of the video to include the column I wrote for the local newspaper. That way you could see that there was more to it than just me hounding him. I should have done that to begin with. The end result is that this guy no longer officiates. I didn't expect to get his name, but he was such an obstructive jerk during the game, I decided to record him for posterity. Thanks for your input and thanks in advance for taking the time to read the column.

The referee was absolutely right not to give you their name. You asking, especially while shoving a camera in their face, is an attempt to intimidate. Your behavior here is shameful. They must file a match report to the league. Do you beleve the league doesn't know who officiated the match? Nothing good can come from you knowing his name. If you have a valid complaint, not knowing his name would not have prevented you from taking action.
