I remember this day, as I used to live in Woodstock, IL. The LAST thing on our minds in this area in early April is a tornado. It's usually snowing out lol..

Is this the same tornado that hits the house with the old man filming in the attic? I know a ton about specific tornadoes and videos. However, my brain is not as sharp as it was when I was younger🤷‍♂️

Glad that you were inside your vehicle in case of lightning. Also glad that you zoomed in for greater detail but still held the camera steadily. But none compares to drone views which enable better perception of location, size and ferocity.

Wow man reminds me of the jarrell footage early on just a thin powerful laser and we all know how it ends up. Great footage. I have no clue how the house at 4:10 survived my heart dropped bc I knew what was coming but I was happy to be wrong

I was near Monroe Center that day, at my late father's place. He wa sin wheelchair, and i couldnt get him to basement, but it got within 3 miles. i remember driving around to see damage, Unbelievable power, as old strong homes, gone, and nothing but concrete foundations. 2 women died in Fairdale , about 6 miles from where we were.

I still can't get over how the estimated max speed from the damage was set at 200mph. I mean, is 200 (highest end EF4) really that distinguishable from 201mph (EF5)?

I think its rather scary how FAST it is actually moving; in forward speed, and in its visible rotation. It looks like it is "growing" forward over simply moving forward. Really creepy

I agree, and would enthusiastically encourage Justin to see if the original copy of the footage he ghas could be processed using the latest software to increase the contrast & detail. It's pretty amazing what software can accomplish these days via re-sampling & deconvolution, and the quality of the raw data here would enable some impactful - perhaps dramatic - improvements to what Justin expertly captured!

This one was the closest we have come to EF5 in 11 years. The only tornado I have seen rated 200mph EF4. We have had several 190s and one 195mph.

Thanks for what you do. When you filmed this, it was minutes from chewing up a path along "OO," near where my son lives. (Son and I spent that afternoon in a basement in Chetek proper) This part of Barron County gets a lot of storm, but I have never seen such sickening devastation from a local tornado. I still do a double-take at that storm track.

Started southwest of Fairdale and eventually grew into an EF 4. Some claim it grew to EF 5. The damage was unreal. Tractors thrown like toys at the corner of 251 and 64. Near the begining of its birth, it hit a warehouse in Franklin Grove as an EF 1 or 2.
