Why do not use 520iht4 tool?
I only use that for fine work. This hedges was thicker cutting. The battery tools aren’t quite powerful enough to be honest

Very informative. It has to be done but always put it off.
I’ve since bought a dremel. It’s quick and more accurate than a grinder but the stones wear unevenly and they can’t make really good edge. Nothing better than a flat file IMO. These blades were rusted and seized when I got them. They were sharp for 2 months. Thanks for stopping by
Not sure if anyone’s already mentioned it but lithium batteries, I read don’t let em run down to the last drop. It can significantly shorten the life span of the battery. Thanks for the video. From a fellow British hedge trimming professional, it’s cool to see an American (I think?) hedge trimmer in Australia 😂
I’m from Canada. They say I’m slow ehhh. 😂 loving it down under. Battery update: that bli 500 is awesome. Trimmed all day yesterday (lighter job than this) and used 1 bar. I heard the same about those lithium batts too. Thank you

Thank you for excellent review. Having purchased the same trimmer I'd recommend fitting the tip protector, can save accidental damage when operating next to walls and fencing.
My smaller one has that- it’s great. I didn’t get one with the purchase

Thank you for sharing. I have the Husqvarna battery weed wacker, handheld blower, top-handle chainsaw and rear-handle chainsaw with the BLI 200 and 300 batteries. The battery stuff feels like a toy regarding weight but works like a heavy-duty tool. I have no regrets whatsoever. I want to get that model for cutting perennials on the ground. I think it would work better than the short-handled one. I'm curious of your opinion.
This is the telescoping trimmer so probably not suitable for low work. It’s quite heavy too but for ladder work and tall stuff it’s king. I just bought the new model too handle saw. It’s seriously the best

I ordered this ladder from Bridge Aluminum in Murray Bridge, SA. It is an orchard ladder with rubber feet instead of the pointed feet. Its a bit on the heavy side to be honest but its so sold. Worth every penny.

Nothing toxic about hedge trimming. Get out there and do it. Good fitness and vitamin d and fresh air if you’re using electric. This one was easy, no ladder.

Enjoyed this tutorial. Thanks. Before you grab a Dremel, have a look at the battery options ? I have a Dremel and very rarely get it out anymore. I have purchased the $99 Ryobi battery (in stock at Bunnings Mount Barker) just the most basic one they have, and I use it a heap! I always find myself going for the battery one before the plug in one for the pure convenience. I think it may be a good option for you, as you can take it on site also ? Just a thought, but you do you, as they say. I'm a general builder by trade, but do a heap of gardens now, and I just like to have the right tool for the job, no matter the brand etc, and as long as the quality is up to the task, I don't have to go expensive either ?! The cordless rotary tool is certainly worth a look due to its versatility, portability, price, it's warranty, and it's ease of purchasing at bunnings? Thanks again, I did learn something from your videos, I seem to from them all so far ? Keep it up and stay safe

Hey, thank you. I use multi lube or wd40 while cutting and then blade cleaner before I put it back in the sheath. WD40 is probably the best imo. I’ve tried all the lithium grease and pricier stuff but it’s not worth the $$.

Got to love that Husqvarna battery equipment? Don't know what they've done but there's some proper voodoo in those packs !!?? There's nothing else on the market that comes close to them, not even the EGO stuff or Milwaukee gear. So light and small and yet powerful and long running. Fantastic job too, I wish I had your eye and skill. Looks a million dollars, and all done in some pretty hot Adelaide weather !? Good stuff

Hi Colin. What's the weight difference like on these electric Husqy's compared to petrol? I used to struggle big time with hedges of that size keeping a Stihl telescopic aloft for long periods to get a levelled top.
Overall the machine is lighter. However, I have noticed that the length of the articulating head is longer than what I'm used to with stihl and that the head weights about as much as the motor so the balance is different. The telescopic units are not for me. You can buy an extension piece for the husky or stihl units. The stihl one is longer and made of carbon fiber. But over all I think the husky units are better made now. I still primarily use a gas unit at work for the power. You'd be best going into a husky shop and swinging one around with a battery TBH.@@dwilliams6346

Another good one Colin thanks. I have never taken apart the knives before, as i have been too scared too, but this gives me confidence enough to give it a go. Cheers. Also do you have a mechanical way of sharpening the knife ? Dremel just for example ? Or do you always take them apart and hand sharpen ?
Thank you Liam! I got your message via the website. Ill respond to that there. Regarding mechanical sharpening, I prefer to use an angle grinder. I will be doing a video about that 100%. I do find its useful to try it with the file as it doesn't remove as much metal. I might do a comparison video about both methods.
