    Over the winter we drain the lines. Plus we have very mild winters most of the time so freezing isn’t always an issue. If you lived farther North than us I would drain the lines for sure and insulate all the pipes. Hope that helps!

  • @goodgroundfarm
    @goodgroundfarm2 ай бұрын

    Yes you really have to stay consistent in the spring to keep the flowers from forming. But in the Deep South the heat takes care of the rest. I think as long as you stay ahead of them in the spring you will have a considerably easier time the coming years. You can get the cleaning vinegar at big box stores like Home Depot or Lowe’s.

    Depending on how much vinegar you apply it could affect the PH. Vinegar applied just to the foliage probably won’t have much effect on overall soil conditions. However other plants that come in contact with vinegar have the same fate so aim accurately!

    If you would like to save money on propane and not even have to use the on demand hot water you can buy a burning Barrel raise it up off the ground burn wood under it and have an olive barrel inside of the burning Barrel, fill water between the olive barrel and the burning Barrel & also filling the olive barrel with clean water. Use a sumo pump inside the OLIVE BARREL as hot water for the shower/sink.... Basically like warming a bottle of milk in a pan of hot water. Just a thought..

    That dilution of bleach is not going t hurt you if you drink some. Dilution is key to safely consuming bleach. The CDC recommends adding eight drops of unscented bleach per gallon of water, if that water is clear. If the water you want to purify is cloudy, and you cannot first filter those occlusions from it, the CDC says you should double that quantity to 16 drops per gallon. In both cases, you need to wait 30 minutes before drinking to ensure the water is disinfected.

    Do ever have issues with your seedlings growing on top of the blocks instead of in them? And do you cover the blocks with vermiculite or a bit of your soil block mix or anything? Great video!

  • @goodgroundfarm
    @goodgroundfarm6 ай бұрын

    I have not had any trouble with seedlings growing on top of the soil. It might be your mixture. When researching this problem, they said, too loose and your blocks can crumble and too dense the roots can’t penetrate the soil. Here is the measurements of the ingredients that am using. I use a quart jar to measure. 4 parts coco loco (fox farms) 1.5 parts coco coir .5 green sand 1 3/4 water I have gotten great germination with this mixture. With covering the seeds. Only cover with dirt if they need darkness to germinate. Leave uncovered if the seed packet says they need light. You can add vermiculite even on seeds that need to be uncovered to germinate. Light shines through it and it helps retain moisture. I hope this helped. Have a blessed day.
