Ryan M, I have deleted your lengthy post because it’s more fitting for a holiday review website. It was October ‘22 that I stayed there and I would expect repairs to have been done since then. There were zero Animators on site so I assume that they’re employed now that it’s getting busier and entertainment was non existent. The hotel is not advertised as being purely for families, in fact there were hardly any there when I stayed. I’m pleased you and your family enjoyed your one week stay there.

I have one question, there is a "private pool area" on roof but we read opinions that access is public, how does it look in real? Also how is the food? Is there a variety to choose, is the food hot and tastes well? How are the drinks, do they serve good prepared drinks?

Hi, There is a private pool on the roof for Guests staying in a Suite only. From what I could see it’s shared with all of the Suites There’s also a pool in the Spa that you can pay to use that’s less public. The food is varied with fresh cooking stations, plenty of fish and meats and local cuisine. I’m vegetarian and I have to admit sometimes I did struggle to find options apart from salads. The drinks aren’t bad, however it’s local brands that are used. You can pay extra for “top shelf” brands. The cocktails are quite nice though and are freshly made to order. The hotel itself is lovely, very clean and has a gorgeous private beach. The rooms could do with a refurb in my opinion but they’re adequate and very clean. The only downside is that there’s nothing about outside the hotel. A taxi to Monastir will cost 10 dinars each way. I hope that you enjoy your stay at The Royal Thalassa.. I’m going back in September and also for Christmas and the New Year. I Have a great time.

Hi, Yes they do fresh pizza and pasta, nuggets, burgers and chips. The snack bar does hot dogs and burgers at 4pm too. There’s usually quite a queue for them being popular. Have a great holiday if you decide to book it.

Hi, There is some entertainment most evenings but it’s quite low key. There’s a singer, violinist, someone playing a keyboard, a quiz, bingo and karaoke. People dance in the bar when there’s the musicians on there and there’s always a bit of dancing after the other entertainment has taken place. I’ve only been during the winter months so I can’t confirm if there’s more entertainment on during the summer. Have an amazing holiday and enjoy the beach.

Thank you for you video. Its difficult to know what to think. You are highlighting quite minor things such as stained communal walls/bits of paint work missing etc. I presume you went in the middle of summer at its busiest yime when they wouldnt have time to maintain all areas? What was the food like? Restaurant in general? Was a cockroach in the room every day? Did they have an infestation problem? Im not having a go, but this video doesnt really tell an awful lot. For me, in holiday im not really in my room, so if when i walk past a slightly stained wall to get somewhere, it doesnt offend me too much.

I stayed at the hotel during October 2022 for two weeks so I assume things may have improved by then. If you go you can decide for yourself if the hotel lives up to your expectations. I expect decent standards to be met after staying at other hotels in Fuerteventura that were much better all round. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and I thank you for taking the time to comment on my video. Enjoy your holiday and stay if you decide to go there.

Yes, you can book excursions via the Rep in the hotel. Quad bikes, camel expedition rides and others. it costs 10 dinars about £2.50 each way in a taxi to go in to Mahdia and they have a huge market on every Friday that’s very busy but worth a look.

Thanks Ann, the suites are fab and I agree it would be good fun to book one for Christmas. I’ll make some enquiries. The only downside to the hotel is that there’s nothing about nearby. A taxi to Monastir is 10 dinars each way so not too bad. I’m going in September and for Christmas and the New Year too, bring it on!

Hi @BellaHeam, It was good overall when I went end of January to 12th February with only 2 cloudy days and a little rain. It was warm enough to sunbathe most days but sometimes it was a bit windy. I came away with a good tan though. When the sun goes down it was cold so I took plenty of jumpers to wear on an evening. When I went last March to the Royal Thalassa Monastir it was good apart from one day when it rained. I’m going again 20th of March to top my tan up again. All in all it’s much warmer and far better than it is here.

I have a friend that booked elsewhere in the resort and is having a good time. The music square down the main strip has been the highlight of her holiday and worth going to during the evenings. I didn’t like the Labranda and I think if I’d booked elsewhere I’d have had a much better holiday Carol. If I go back I’d stay at the R2 hotel at Paguera or go back to Jandia.

Hi @hassanhussain2267, In my opinion both hotels are good but it depends if you want just a hotel stay or to go out nearby. In that case the Marhaba Palace is located within walking distance to the Marina. There’s plenty of shops, restaurants and bars there. The Royal Thalassa is isolated with nothing nearby and you would have to go by taxi to Monastir or Skanes, about 15 lminutes away. Each hotel has its pluses and are stunning. The beach is better at the Royal Thalassa and I preferred the Spa there, although I did have a good experience using the Spa at the Marhaba Palace. The food is better at the Marhaba Palace with more choices than the Royal Thalassa and drinks are about equal. Staff are amazing at both hotels and cannot do enough for you. Entertainment is equal at both hotels with hard working Animators who try their best to make you smile. I’m going back to the Royal Thalassa in March, September and for Christmas and the NY and I’m looking forward to every trip. I’d gladly go back to the Marhaba Palace too and I’ll probably squeeze in another holiday there. I hope this helps but it depends what your preferences and expectations are. I’m sure that you’ll have a fabulous time at either of the hotels.

Yes, I think the Royal Thalassa looks more luxurious overall. The rooms at the Marhaba Palace are slightly nicer though in my opinion. Quality wise they’re both very good and clean. I’ve stayed in five star hotels here in the UK that are far worse and not as lovely as both of these hotels. No, there’s no shops nearby the Royal Thalassa and only a couple of shops inside the hotel on the way to the Spa selling a few quality goods. The owner will get you things if there’s anything that you need. There is a shop inside the Marhaba Palace selling souvenirs, snacks, clothing, pottery and leather goods. If you walk down towards the Marina there’s a Supermarket on the left hand side of the road that is very reasonable, fixed prices and no pressure to buy things. There’s lots of shops at the Marina too.

It was good fun haggling and buying some bargains and wandering in and out of the shops. Nice coffee too, thanks Steve. I went again on my last full day with Jean and we enjoyed it there buying last minute bits. It's absolutely lovely there, thanks for a great day out. X

The Water Villas are comfortable, not luxurious but there’s everything you could need, clean and serviced daily. There’s a jacuzzi bath as well as a shower in the bathroom. They’re ideal for snorkelling around as there’s a reef just outside. There’s no steps down in to the ocean though but I didn’t mind that. There’s a glass viewing area in the floor so you can watch the fish underneath your villa swimming by. Go to the end of the jetty on an evening after dinner and see all the tuna fish and some large sharks there. It’s well lit and safely watched by a really friendly security guard. Have fun, I’m sure that you will.

Hi when you land in the Maldives do you collect your bags and take them onto the speedboat yourself or do they go straight to the island ?

Hi Jennifer, I went by seaplane to Summer Island but when I went to Fihalhohi in March I went by speedboat. You collect your luggage when you land at Male and go through to arrivals. There are loads of guys there holding up Island names, however ask any one of them and they will take you to the Summer Island desk. Check in there and I'm pretty certain that you will be accompanied along with your luggage to where you get the speedboat. I gave the guy a $5 tip, not a lot but he was happy. When you arrive at the Island your luggage you are greeted and your luggage is taken to your allocated room. You are escorted to reception to check in, have a welcome drink and hot face cloth to refresh yourself and then you are escorted to your room having a mini tour along the way. Coming back, you luggage is collected from your room. You go to the jetty to get on your speedboat and then at Male you take your luggage yourself to departures, which is a short distance just across the road. Just follow everyone else. If you need a hand I'm sure someone will assist you. I hope this helps Jennifer. Have a lovely time, I'm sure that you will love every minute of your holiday.

Привет Спасибо за ваше сообщение. В период с конца марта по начало апреля строительные работы не проводились. Только соломенная крыша была заменена над баром Fisherman в рамках общего обслуживания, за которым было приятно наблюдать, как это делается. В остальном остров был идеальным.

Thanks Ann, the suites are fab and I agree it would be good fun to book one for Christmas. I’ll make some enquiries. The only downside to the hotel is that there’s nothing about nearby. A taxi to Monastir is 10 dinars each way so not too bad. I’m going in September and for Christmas and the New Year too, bring it on!

Hi @BellaHeam, It was good overall when I went end of January to 12th February with only 2 cloudy days and a little rain. It was warm enough to sunbathe most days but sometimes it was a bit windy. I came away with a good tan though. When the sun goes down it was cold so I took plenty of jumpers to wear on an evening. When I went last March to the Royal Thalassa Monastir it was good apart from one day when it rained. I’m going again 20th of March to top my tan up again. All in all it’s much warmer and far better than it is here.

How many Cost change the room?
Hi @jolapolak707. You will have to contact the hotel to change rooms. I booked a Superior Sea View Room with my package so it didn’t cost me anything to change rooms. I hope this helps.
I have a friend that booked elsewhere in the resort and is having a good time. The music square down the main strip has been the highlight of her holiday and worth going to during the evenings. I didn’t like the Labranda and I think if I’d booked elsewhere I’d have had a much better holiday Carol. If I go back I’d stay at the R2 hotel at Paguera or go back to Jandia.
Hotels aren't cheap nowadays so thanks for making a video of this one before I booked it. I will check out the other ones you advised

Thanks @enersonwilkes, I was so disappointed with the hotel and the resort. I like Fuerteventura and there are far nicer hotels and resorts to go. Jandia is one of them. I haven’t done videos but the Maxorata and the Occidental Playa are far nicer hotels that I have stayed in.

Hi @hassanhussain2267, In my opinion both hotels are good but it depends if you want just a hotel stay or to go out nearby. In that case the Marhaba Palace is located within walking distance to the Marina. There’s plenty of shops, restaurants and bars there. The Royal Thalassa is isolated with nothing nearby and you would have to go by taxi to Monastir or Skanes, about 15 lminutes away. Each hotel has its pluses and are stunning. The beach is better at the Royal Thalassa and I preferred the Spa there, although I did have a good experience using the Spa at the Marhaba Palace. The food is better at the Marhaba Palace with more choices than the Royal Thalassa and drinks are about equal. Staff are amazing at both hotels and cannot do enough for you. Entertainment is equal at both hotels with hard working Animators who try their best to make you smile. I’m going back to the Royal Thalassa in March, September and for Christmas and the NY and I’m looking forward to every trip. I’d gladly go back to the Marhaba Palace too and I’ll probably squeeze in another holiday there. I hope this helps but it depends what your preferences and expectations are. I’m sure that you’ll have a fabulous time at either of the hotels.

Yes, I think the Royal Thalassa looks more luxurious overall. The rooms at the Marhaba Palace are slightly nicer though in my opinion. Quality wise they’re both very good and clean. I’ve stayed in five star hotels here in the UK that are far worse and not as lovely as both of these hotels. No, there’s no shops nearby the Royal Thalassa and only a couple of shops inside the hotel on the way to the Spa selling a few quality goods. The owner will get you things if there’s anything that you need. There is a shop inside the Marhaba Palace selling souvenirs, snacks, clothing, pottery and leather goods. If you walk down towards the Marina there’s a Supermarket on the left hand side of the road that is very reasonable, fixed prices and no pressure to buy things. There’s lots of shops at the Marina too.

In that case you would be more suited to the Marhaba Palace due to its location. It is a lovely hotel and I’m sure that you’ll have a great time there.

Oh the port looks lovely such a great day shopping and haggling we were experts after a few shops lol. Taz face is a picture when she pulled! Such a nice clean place to go shopping or just for a stroll. Lovely memories of a lovely hotel and lovely people we met x

I’m sure that you’ll have a wonderful memorable time there. I stayed in Beach Bungalow number 8 which had the best bit of beach in front of it and Water Villa 114, which was also ideally located. Enjoy your holiday all of you.

The Water Villas are comfortable, not luxurious but there’s everything you could need, clean and serviced daily. There’s a jacuzzi bath as well as a shower in the bathroom. They’re ideal for snorkelling around as there’s a reef just outside. There’s no steps down in to the ocean though but I didn’t mind that. There’s a glass viewing area in the floor so you can watch the fish underneath your villa swimming by. Go to the end of the jetty on an evening after dinner and see all the tuna fish and some large sharks there. It’s well lit and safely watched by a really friendly security guard. Have fun, I’m sure that you will.

Hi when you land in the Maldives do you collect your bags and take them onto the speedboat yourself or do they go straight to the island ?
Hi Jennifer, I went by seaplane to Summer Island but when I went to Fihalhohi in March I went by speedboat. You collect your luggage when you land at Male and go through to arrivals. There are loads of guys there holding up Island names, however ask any one of them and they will take you to the Summer Island desk. Check in there and I'm pretty certain that you will be accompanied along with your luggage to where you get the speedboat. I gave the guy a $5 tip, not a lot but he was happy. When you arrive at the Island your luggage you are greeted and your luggage is taken to your allocated room. You are escorted to reception to check in, have a welcome drink and hot face cloth to refresh yourself and then you are escorted to your room having a mini tour along the way. Coming back, you luggage is collected from your room. You go to the jetty to get on your speedboat and then at Male you take your luggage yourself to departures, which is a short distance just across the road. Just follow everyone else. If you need a hand I'm sure someone will assist you. I hope this helps Jennifer. Have a lovely time, I'm sure that you will love every minute of your holiday.

Привет Спасибо за ваше сообщение. В период с конца марта по начало апреля строительные работы не проводились. Только соломенная крыша была заменена над баром Fisherman в рамках общего обслуживания, за которым было приятно наблюдать, как это делается. В остальном остров был идеальным.
