    How the f do you insert the Sim?

  • @AlexKidman
    @AlexKidman6 сағат бұрын

    Pop the back off (shown in video), remove the battery and place the SIM card in. Battery back in, place back onto phone and powering up should do the trick.

    Does it feel like an upgrade from 40 ultra? I have a red 40 ultra.

    Hmm. Don't want to write a full review here (that will come in time), but on the one hand a new model should be an upgrade over the prior model (what would be the point otherwise?)... and it's early days in my testing, but as a general rule of thumb, it's rarely worth upgrading year-on-year unless there's a huge gap or flaw in the old model in some way. Not entirely sure that would be true of the 40 Ultra to the 50 Ultra.

    How does the stand perform when you take the phone off it with one hand? I noticed you used two hands for the video - is this necessary?

  • @AlexKidman
    @AlexKidman2 күн бұрын

    Pretty much - the point with magnetic attachment is that it's a strong enough magnet to hold in most circumstances. One handed sliding up off the magnet is just about possible if it's lying flat, but trying to take it off with a single hand (unless you tethered the base) isn't really the way it works. Hence the two-handed approach.

    I think you should leave your comments a little longer on screen, I needed to pause every time if I wanted to read them. But that maybe be my problem because I watched the video with 2x speed.

  • @AlexKidman
    @AlexKidman3 күн бұрын

    It's tricky getting the balance right for onscreen notes -- and as you say, 2x speed doesn't make it any easier!

    100% - and of course it’s Android, you can (pretty much) make it look like anything you want to. But when it’s the default, I feel like it’s worth calling out - some will love it, some won’t.

    Any plans to upload more vlogs with bEV content? maybe test driving & reviewing full battery EV cars that are locally near you (Zeekr, Xpeng, BYD, Skywell, Tesla, other well known brands that also make petrol cars & now make some bEV's). Are you based in Adelaide?

    I am thinking of buying this mobile. It would be to replace the Fusion 20 I have now. This is coming up to two years old and is randomly getting stuck in the shut down/or power up screen and just happens when you least expect it. Not sure why this is happening. Thanks for the review.

    I mean if you are using an Android (especially a Nothing) you would know this. I really wanna know who this tutorial helped

  • @AlexKidman
    @AlexKidman8 күн бұрын

    Simply put, people who didn't know how to do this -- that's the point of any tutorial, no? I mean, I get where you're coming from -- Nothing largely sells itself as an enthusiast brand, and tech enthusiasts tend to tinker -- but with the way that different Android launchers throw different UI elements in different places, while it's findable, it's not always obvious -- hence a quick tutorial.

    Hi mate, with the habbl set up can I watch like 9 go 7 mate ect with out a cable connected to tv to the wall to the outside antenna? Ps Love you reviews. Cheers Brett

  • @AlexKidman
    @AlexKidman10 күн бұрын

    Pretty much yes -- all the free to air channels offer a "live stream" version of their programming these days, though this is table stakes -- you can do the same thing with a Chromecast with Google TV, Amazon Fire TV stick, etc. The only caveat there is that a very small proportion of content (mostly sporting events) might not go on those live streams due to rights issues (the channels have the rights to broadcast TV, not internet broadcast in some situations).

  • @brett5728

    Thanks mate, that’s great knowing I can get all the free to air channels with connection to a roof antenna. Just needed to know if once set up I can get all the free to air channels because I haven’t got an antenna cable in the wall of the spare room. Thank you again keep those great videos coming👍

    I've used it for a while and I'm really disappointed. I'd happily take less storage and RAM, and a lower resolution camera, just for it to have A FUCKING GYROSCOPE, and an OS that doesn't consistently scream at me to update.

    I Think this is a phone that is designed for older people. That aren't tech savvy. I'm looking for one for my Dad.So I'm only really interested to see if it's easy to use.as in the size of the numbers and the ease of using it. And if he can hear it when it rings ect

    OK, so?I have this exact phone (in black of course) BUT there are a few VERY annoying things about it. I came direct from a 3G Nokia 6120 Classic, which had OH LOOK The wee button on the RH side that was CAMERA Hitting that turned the camera ON and allowed a selection of still, video and something else, I think it was 360 mode stills Anyways, I keep trying to get the camera going, and the BLOoDy thing keeps ringine 111 (or my ICE contacts - I forget which but it's Fkn annoying). Is there any way to reset that button for a LONG PRESS (or a short one I don't care) That only selects camera function and NOT an act stupidly - as an sos button?

  • @keithclare9747

    ):05 WRONG, I got this exact phone for ONE reason only. It has BIG NUMBERS that I can easily see After all, what F use is a phone you cannot dial? The second reason is this. It does NOT have a super sensitive side/face that my big fingers wrap around, and accidentally do weird things on the nternet, while I am searching for the NUMBER KEYS, to enable me to use a dial pad, to make ...? Yep a ruddy phone call. So this was the ONLY PHONE the shop had, that allowed me to upgrade my old Nokia 6120 classic, as they were REMOVING the "classic's service data, and forcing me to buy a NEWER Internet capable ophone, except for ONE massive failure. THIS PHONE - even though I am now on a DATA p[lan with them, the daMned thing cannot access the data service?

    I lovr this for my ps3 consoles l have a few lol it feels very similar to an xbox one/series controllers more comfortable than a ps3 console and while on ps3 you can use a ps4 controller using a ps4 controller on ps3 you could turn on a ps3 but not turn it off you either had to have a ps3 controller connected of turn off on the ps3 itself this does both but on a backwards compatible ps3 to play ps2 games you always had to use a genuine ps3 controller try using a ps4 or any 3rd party controller to play ps2 games causes it to freeze and you have to turn off and restart but to my complete surprise you can use this to play ps2 games with no issues am keen to buy a couple more as spares

    I have Fetch boxes that do the same thing only better and get free channels with it and all the main apps are on it and what's not on it i can get them on the tv eg Tubi. They keep emailing get the free hubbl on us but I don't think it's worth it. I read somewhere you can watch free to air on it without an antenna? Might be useful if its the case as in my little town the reception is up and down.
