The man who he is portraying was called Lieutenant Peter Ames in real life, and the house maid basically opened the door and pointed out the rooms he and another british soldier were in..the ira marched them into another room where they then shot them...what happend that morning could been portrayed more into the movie instead of how fast it went...some off the assassins actually even had a gun battle with plain clothed irish auxiliary men who where headed to a train station to go back to Belfast and happened to be passing one of the houses and heard someone shout for help from a window and then tried to storm the house with the ira men inside

As Sectarian as The Ra were/are. My Uncle stole one of their cars and wrecked it in 1947 - got 3 Years in Borstal. Admittedly it resulted in a high speed car chase etc. P myself laughing when I found out.

"Being British and being a Catholic is not a problem" Aye, until you go for the job of British prime minister or British head of state.

John, the English monarchy is not open to Catholics so why are you loyal to something that discriminates against you?

Does she know that the crown that she is loyal too and the British government that she supports have legislation in place to prevent a Catholic being either British prime minister or British head of state? Why is she loyal to a state that treats her as a second class citizen? Alas she found out where she stood in the bigoted and sectarian unionist community. Never trust a planter!!!!!!!!!!!

How can a foreign monarch be the "keystone" to an Irish state????????? Their only loyalty is loyalty to the sectarian English monarchy, if the English monarch was Catholic they would not recognise that monarchy. so they themselves are sectarian.

I was a BSAP recruit in 1969/70 and my squad (Display Squad 10/69) did the 'extra' riding on this movie Shangani Patrol - May/June 1970 in Marula on the Rosenfels' ranch in Matabeleland. One of us (Tom Thomas) actually had a very minor talking part as 'Trooper Smallpiece' on the night before the patrol met it's end. It was great fun for us as we were at the conclusion of our 6 months recruit training, which was quite strenuous and strict in a military sense, and it was good to be sort of let off the leash for a few weeks. We took our own horses by train from Salisbury (now Harare) to Marula Siding and then rode them to the camp which had been set up for the filming. I think the horses enjoyed the freedom too - a bit of a change from endless parade and show preparation for them.

Isn't it interesting that the British Union Flag contains the St Patrick's Cross, which makes sense given that Patrick was British and his burial place is thought to be in Northern Ireland. Interesting too that even Dublin looks like a very British Georgian city. Of course, the only time Ireland was properly united was under the British.

"The year was 1900 t's worth remebering, the men who lived through, 55 days at peking. T'was called the boxer inserection! A bloody orential war! Against all nations, of the diplomatic core. The flags of france and britian how the flutterd in the breeze the italian and the russian, and the flag of the japanese! Then came the sound of bulges "the sound of bulges" the rooling drums of doom "rooling doom" and the streets of peking were as emtpy as a tomb. The empress of all china sent the signal to begin, let the fourgin devils bee driven from peking. They stormed the french legation, they attacked with shoot and shell, they came in blood red blouses screaming SHA SHOU! as they fell. The drums have long been muffled, the buggles seace to ring, bt through the edges you can hear them echoing, dump dump dump dump dump dump dump dump dump ump dump 55 days at peking. (Probably butcher the sha shou)

Both Charlie and Cromwell were unconstitutional. Charles was in defiance of Magna Carta by attempting to impose the Divine Right of Kings (which is very Luciferian ironically enough) over Divine Kingship. Cromwell's Republic was rotten to the core from the start, not even trying to pretend that Charles I got a fair trial. What he did in Ireland makes Andrew Jackson's scourging of Negro Fort look like a freedom campaign by comparison. But they do get some credit. They recognised the Levellers for the Communist scum that they were, and teamed up to wipe them out.
