Knowing what we found out later, it was funny to hear the announcers in the closing laps talk about how Petty's car was "handling like it's on a rail" and "could run anywhere on the track", how his car had gotten faster as the race went on, and Petty saying in the post race interview how on his last pit stop his crew "did a bunch of stuff". They sure did. 😄 With that kind of advantage I'm surprised DW was able to hold him off as long as he did.

the changes on the cars clearly ended up working. this was quite the wonderful race to watch. (helped by the gorgeous sights and sounds of these old, beautiful IR-05 chassis.)

I watching this Race in my College Dorm Room. As soon as I saw the wreck I was devastated that Jeff Gordon got taken out by Jeff Burton in the middle of Caution. As soon as I saw Gordon make the long walk over to Burton, I could tell by his expression that he was ready to fight!

@shaneharrisnj3484Ай бұрын
ABC and ESPN shared the same intro from 2006-09. However, international feeds would use this as well, but the ABC or ESPN logos would be censored in favor of the Indycar logo. Heck, from 2003-2006, they had a completely different commentary team and theme song, but they kept the ABC/ESPN graphics (as evidenced by the 2006 race at Chicagoland) These graphics were still utilized on foreign feeds well into the NBCSN era until like 2017 or so.

Nascar needs to allow the drivers to rough each other up in the aspect of grappling and getting up in each other's faces. Don't get me wrong, there should be consequences if it becomes shoving or punching level or worse. Nascar has become a pussy sport so convoluted with bullshit rules and regulations that it's not worth watching anymore. Nascar went downhill rapidly after the tragic death of Dale Earnhardt Sr.
