Where I grew up hunting (New Zealand) pigs were treated as an asset more than a pest, although they were fairly “pesty” at times. Australia however was a whole different story. Especially in the crops, sugar cane, sorghum etc.. There’s a whole heap of pigs in Australia.. did a few hints in LA and TX, nice folks down thataway.

What's the reason for hog hunting? Is it just for fun? Or is it to feed other people?
@LifesaboarАй бұрын
Can be a number of reasons, a lot of the time in Australia it’s as pest control, there’s massive numbers in some places that can do a lot of damage to crops etc. Can be a food source as well.

Those dogs are tuff. Mind you, I've seen two boxers take down a full grown sow. Why the grand fathers? They taste like rancid piss. !0 - 15 kg gutted weight females much nicer surely?
Intro music is OK but cut it off when you begin to talk. It's distracting when I want to hear you, not some songster. Then, you KEEP that bloody music on when you're out in the field. I don't want to hear some guy singing I was to hear what it's like to be out in the bush. ONE BIG THUMB DOWN. And since this was my very first visit to your channel, NO SUBSCRIBING until you fix this bloody song stuff. TOTALLY UNNECESSARY.

Bob definitely looks like he has some pit bull blood in him. And at 11 years old while still going strong, that does check out with how pit bulls usually are. They often times remain high drive and ready for action throughout the majority of their lives. Having one or two of these bulldogs on a hunt is almost always a good call. They were made for this. Like writer, author, and trainer Diane Jessup writes: “First a hunter, then a butcher's dog, then a baiter, then a dog fighter, pit bulls which display behavior typical of their heritage are gripping dogs; they come from a long, long genetic history which dictates they get a hold and HANG ON! This behavior saved their life during the years they were hunting boar, stag and bear, and also stood them in good stead when they moved on to working bulls, bears and other animals in baiting sports. This same behavior can work to make breaking up a fight quite easy and safe."
