  Personally im a hoe main (i know that sounds stupid but hear me out) after blocking with a shield you get no i frames so you can spam click with a strenght II pot and will do insane damage to shield and armor, trap the enemy in cobwebs and you get to do insane damage, also. hoe's are the weapon with most dps if you add strenght and even sharpness to the competitors as a netherite sword has a max dps of 27,2 including sharpness and strenght 2 pots, while hoes have 28, in other words a netherite hoe with strenght II has better dps than a maxxed out sword with strenght II, the fun part about that is that because you spam it so much you actually deal more damage to the armor than the foe itself, man, it can break a shield like if it was nothing, by sheer spam, it's hilarious. (still waiting for the beta test to become real)

  I just can't seem to use axes that well, it's like instinct or something saying "this is too barbaric to use an axe as a weapon, you are now bad at using axes in combat". other then that I'm not good at using potions mid fight. I could likely trick whatever's not letting me use axes very well by using a texture pack to change axes to hammers as I can use those decently in other games though.

  Swords do more damage due to cool-down time. If you have a player in full iron or any type of armour. And get a axe player and sword player to critspam them. The sword player would kill them faster.
