Hi my name is Mike from the big D. I have the channel Mackinac Mac as well where I have posted alot of random junk, but am creating this exciting new place about my Urban Archaeology. What's that you ask? Just wait and see, we will be exploring the hidden history of Detroit right on the streets pointing out interesting history, etc! From old Civil Defense Sirens in Wayne County to hidden Streetcar lines and old buildings.

I WAS TRYING TO FIND THIS FOOTAGE FOR SO LONG AND I FINALLY FOUND IT
Nice ws-2000 controller if it is
This uses an ESC-864
@@Sipex6484ESC-864 hilo doesnt sound like this
@@Sipex6484and esc-864 hilo is a bit slow
I must admit 15 years ago in Michigan they would replace sirens to a 2001
They did
love hiio amazing
It's just kind of loud if I have my volume on low
Why did they not cut down the trees?
Bruh -_-
As much as I love 2001s, they really should've left these damn Whelens there instead of replacing them.
Me : screams siren
YES!
The Dearborn whoop is a legend these days. As kids, they were so creepy. You can hear all the sirens throughout the city winding down at the end. Embarrassingly, I know where every siren is at. The Hi Lo that Dearborn did for snow emergencies was equally creepy.
RIP
Sounds like a military base alarm.
Wow that’s loud! The whelens in my town are so quiet that you would need a hearing aid in order to hear it lol
It that siren are replaced other siren
Can I borrow your video
What park is it
I think it’s going off
The siren was replaced with a 2001 today
The frequency of the Hi Lo isn't 800/1000. It's 864hz/1100hz
It's actually around 430/540hz
Get outta the way trees!
They should replace the 2001 with a new WPS 2910
this siren might be gone. but idk. i live in illinois and i have a few thunderbolts in my state
It is. It got replaced by a 2001-130 a LONG time ago.
This siren has I think an ESC-864 controller!
What pisses me off is the fact that this lovely sounding siren was replaced with an FS 2001 (the siren that I hate because of its extremely loud high pitched eardrum killing sound)
This siren is under private ownership now though.
@@Sipex6484 Wait, really??
@@xXSo1arGamingXx im pretty sure, yeah.
@@xXSo1arGamingXx kzread.info/dash/bejne/o45mrrmHesffiMo.html
Does anybody have a video of their 1000 dying during attack?
The tee is to Close to the thunder bolt
me: (hears whelen doing hi lo) *gets up* HMMMMMMM i see no fire... of yes i forgot its 12:00 whelen: just randomly stops me: WHELEN SIREN=BROKEN
I found this video and was trying to find the siren because Plymouth mi fire station #2 is the fire station by my house. But of course now there is just some 2001-130 in its place.
This scared the hell out of my when I first watched this
Funny, there's still a 2750 in Eastpointe still kicking
When was that Whelen WPS 2750 installed
It was installed in 1989, but was replaced by a 2001-130 later in 2008.
@@MinecraftPro97k how do you know it was installed on that day (just wondering)
This is cute
Why does this look like video footage from before color was made?
Because there's snow on everything....you really are nuts huh
@@flaw885 Thanks captain obvious
Dang. That is a very rare port ratio!
This is pretty much what a 4/5 Port thunderbolt on chopper level 4 would sound like if it were operating in Hi-Lo
@@xXSo1arGamingXx cool.
@@MasenMonster very rare indeed!
@@xXSo1arGamingXx Got a video of it!?
@@MinecraftPro97k no
It has been almost 12 years since this was uploaded and this siren was removed. I love the Hi-Low tone on this particular Whelen, and I really think they should offer this version of the Hi-Low tone again for their current sirens. That would be amazing.
They still do technically. The hi lo on the ESC-864 controller sounds a lot like this. I’m pretty sure that it is actually using the same controller.
@@MasenMonster Yeah. But sadly Whelen discontinued the 864. The hi lo on the new 2030 sounds very different. I don't mind it, but it's not as good as this version is.
@@MasenMonster yeah it was only heard on analog 864 controllers
I gave you 100 subscribers 😁
Sounds like a British fire engine
What camera was this filmed on? This kinda also looks like there's just a filter applied to this video
I like this Hi-Lo tone more than the newer Whelen sirens.
Sounds like the 3016's I grew up with
R.i.p headphones
*composite artifact continues*
This signal tecnically says get youre cars off the streets or you will be towed or get a ticket
This is the most beautiful hi-lo ive ever heard from a whelen! I wish there were more of these whelens around that have hi-lo sounding just like this one. I really miss this whelen...
I really like it as well
No look like analog siren
It's terrible i don't Like the Sound of modern Sirene i Love the Sound of old sirens
This IS a old siren, Most whelens dont sound like this This thing is completely analog, There are very little of these things around. but their tone's sound way better than todays, Today's hi lo is, Well... Terrible!
I wish Waukesha had these in stead of shitty t-128s
Earrape
They should've kept those sirens, or gotten new whelens.

I agree, I miss hearing all the whoop whoops on the 1st Saturday
And I do miss there old system at least goetz parks 2750 is still there but with ultra voice controllers
I agree, especially since 2001s can do only 3 signals and Whelens can do 7
Was this the last test of this one and the other whelens?
