I'm really trying to figure out how you got so much footage of you alone. This hike is always so packed!
@pcullis26 күн бұрын
Totally. I had to bike to the trailhead before the buses started running for the day and hustle up the first section. I saw the first bus coming up the valley right before entering Refrigerator Canyon. And to be honest, there were five people already at the top when I got there… They all were staying at the Lodge and hiked from there to be at the landing for sunrise.

Great video! I like the animations too. Is the snow on Breathless better than the snow say half the hike across the top of beyond bowl? Does it accumulate differently based on the contour of the mountain?
@pcullis2 ай бұрын
It does accumulate more along that edge yes, but primarily it is the earlier you drop in, the sooner you hit the tracks of those traversing Intuition who didn’t hike up. Breathless is twice as long as dropping in early.

@pcullis2 ай бұрын
I feel like early June probably would work with just some snow in the shaded areas early on the approach. Mostly the Medano Pass just needs to be open from the east side and you have to be able to get over the one real 4WD stretch to the trailhead.

that was cool, was there a month ago with friends, played for first time on Crystal, Centennial and maybe Doublejack, we are all intermediate and have never tried something like the Burn. Not as crowded with trees as some tree runs I see on youtube. If I make it back to breck I may try The Burn. good footage and editing as others have said, ever consider a 360 camera to lose the pole in the shot?

Loved the video and the graphics showing the Breathless run and how far it was from the Kensho Superchair. You say it is not as steep as Horseshoe Bowl, but goodness you had no trouble getting up to speed in a nano second on Breathless. Mercy!! Thanks for sharing!
@pcullis4 ай бұрын
Thank you! I absolutely love that run. The cornice drop isn’t too bad, and there’s a wide range of entries, but it can get you up to speed quickly if you want! Then the run itself can be so smooth you don’t really have to avoid anything so can let it rip! Thanks for commenting and enjoy the slopes!

Rosi’s is a great black diamond run to start with since they groom it daily. Primarily it’s just steep and mildly long, but particularly early in the day it’s still smooth. (It’s a racing slope for early season training.)

@pcullis7 ай бұрын
Jackson really depends on the conditions because I can’t really imagine doing the Hobacks without fresh snow unless your thighs are ready for 2,000 vert of no-exit giant mogul fields… 😜 Obviously the Tram is legendary and there are runs down from that which were super fun every single time but in different conditions I’d probably be over on the gondola or Teton Quad way more.

Hi. My friend filmed with this cam in 360 and it's completely blurry and does not look like yours at all. What settings did you film this in? What settings did you upload it with?
@pcullis8 ай бұрын
I record at the Spherical 5.6K and use world lock. Bring those .360 files into the GoPro App and export to Equirectangular with the default High setting, then I edit that directly in Adobe Premiere using the GoPro Reframe plugin to zoom, frame, and point the camera direction. I edit in Premiere at 4K and you just have to balance the amount of zoom with the crispness of the shot. More zoomed out has higher resolution and will look better, but eventually too fisheye.
