Just wanted to ask, how is it closed transfer without exposing beer to oxygen, since you needed to remove airlock and to place other extention?

Waiting for my 7gal Unitank to arrive. This is helpful to get a feel for how things are going to play out. It’s easier to grasp these concepts when you have a visual aid. I could read the instructions over and over but these videos are much easier to digest. Cheers!

Nice vid- I contacted star San and they recommend against leaving lines full, sanitize and empty according to them.

What is the fitting on the fermenter? It is some sort of threaded barb. I can't find this anywhere.

Hello, nice video and thank you for sharing. Curious to know the glycol chiller you are using and based on the hops left in the conical, I'm assuming it's an IPA? How long did you cold crash the beer and at what temp? I think I read 37 degrees before you shut it off? Thanks!

Ok I’m getting ready to make an order on SS Brewtech’s site. I’m wanting to do a closed transfer with my Brewtech Unitank to my keg. My keg has pin locks. What fitting and sizes do I use on the butterfly valve and try clamp on the Unitank? Also what size line are you using and to hook up to the fittings on your keg? Have a link to these? Thanks!

I'm a newbee, and am rapidly coming up on my first transfer. What I don't quite understand is, why not just initially fill the keg with Star-sans, and then use CO2 to displace the Star-sans from the keg (thus leaving a CO2-filled keg), then fill that keg with beer from the conical fermenter while expelling the CO2 in the keg from a line on the "liquid out" ball valve into a sanitized bucket (like a blow off line)? That way, there is almost NO oxygen in the transfer system. I am not all that convinced about the efficacy of CO2-O2 displacement. But I am open to comments from those with more experience!

Great video! I subscribed! Hope to see a lot more. I can’t wait to get my conical and start doing some closer transfers! I feel like closed transfers are a huge step towards better homebrew. Cheers!

Nice video and we were the first to subscribe! Keep putting up brewing vids, can't wait to watch more. We also put up videos on or home brewing adventures. Check us out if you get a chance. Wasn't able to watch your entire video but try to turn your phone sideways so the picture uploads full screen. You have a great home brew set up. Can'r wait to see how this one turns out. Cheers!

Home brewing is a continuous learning process, and I obviously need to learn how to shoot my videos in a consistent orientation!
