    Kopter Group is another manufacturer I recall helping with a similar airframe.

    What about FAA airframe and engine certification? How long is that going to take? All this is a sales pitch until all is done.

    a flight and autonomy test of course you can't ask for much but that's enough and safety of course

    How much will the camera system add in costs? good ones can be quite pricey. How does the rules with vfr even work in night conditions with use w camera that isnt certified?

    @33:16 I cant believe they didnt think of this sooner. Sounds like an ideal use for oled instead of lcd. Didnt your finnish partner that designs the hud ever talk to you about this? I always wondered how this works myself in the aviation field and as i understand it its not so much about producing screens with very high peak brightness as it is the use of some kind of filter that i guess they laminate on the screen which eliminates glare totally and makes it readable even when directly sunlit

    How many parts have the main fuselage now been split into?

  • @abvmoose87
    @abvmoose8718 сағат бұрын

    A bit dissapointed to hear about the changes of the fuselage. If i understand correctly the main fuselage was cast as one giant part but now have been split into parts before they get fused together.

    Who will manufacture the finished pcb's for this, will it have some quality rating? You mentioned previously you cooperate with a finnish design studio of the HUD that is used by the best in the automotive industry, pls correct me if im wrong. Will systems like infotainment be on a seperat ECU from other more critical systems like say systems that take in data from sensors measuring speed altitude sort of how it works in auto ndustey or will all presented on one of these displays come from one singular ecu?

    So what are the status of the leaks now that the fuselage have been split in to more parts with their new suite of tools? Dont they have to quality control this part they covered here all over again or is it garanteed theres no new issues with leaks after the change with the fuselage?

  • @abvmoose87

    Who will build the actual finished production pcb's? Will they have any sort of quality rating? I know its uncertified but still

    I understand that it gets more convenient with lamination if the fuselage consists of more parts but I mean the big deal with this helicopter is the high quality rotorcraft a customer gets for the money purchasing a non certified experimental kit that he/her puts together 50% by themselves. I know youre aiming for a commercial variant down the line but the main focus is this non certified one. It just comes off a little strange to be making these big changes and splitting up the fuselage up in more parts that need to be fused together because its more convenient for the manufacturing guys when the customer is supposed to pay for experimental build kit anyways that he puts together himself. I think this should warant a somewhat lowered price. Thats seems like the fair thing to do for the customer.

  • @abvmoose87
    @abvmoose8719 сағат бұрын

    So is the fuselage created/built using more parts now than before? Not sure I quite got that. It just seems like a little late in the overall process to be making such big changes but maybe i missunderstood?

    Startups used to be very risky and intransparent. But you guys are bringing transparency to a whole new level. And that despite doing real manufacturing with actual machines, not some software startup with 3 guys running the 27th carsharing app.

    Splice points feels like a manufacturer induced weak points / point of failure no? Lifetime of the airframe i would imagine has been significantly reduced due to this?

  • @abvmoose87

    This is was I was thinking as well, sounds like theyre trying to shoehorn in a pretty significant change that prob deserves a bit more coverage than this short segment provides. I think they owe this to people who have made pre-orders at least.

    It's the ugliest thing I've seen in a long time. As if it had been designed by an appliance designer. It gives the feeling that they prioritized the aesthetic design, and then they did all the engineering inside it. And it doesn't really matter if it's pretty or ugly, but I can't believe anyone found it nice. It is an insult to intelligence. And as icing on the cake... the instruments simulating those of a car.

    Infusion. I wonder how long it will take for them to realize almost no one with high production volume does infusion. Prepreg is far faster and more easily repeatable which can end up lower cost. Time is money.

    still no evaluation of all in house components or parts to validate the quality assurances by testing. High load, dynamic bearings, gears, shafts and case testing jigs, fixtures, or test equipment seen, no test systems to validate airframe structures or dynamic components. no mention of process sheets or verification for manufacturing, design, or quality control system. composite engineering and lay up validation not mentioned, materials input processing to ensure raw stock homogeneous and specification compliance. (crashworthy) where is that facility? (fuel, structures, seats, flight controls, electrical, attachments) mathematical, computer, real life compliance for fatigue life components not spoken of, navigation lights are still in non compliant location. fuselage construction of the Windstar (1980-1995) was similar, yet was designed for easy changes to its structure, each design change would require separate testing for compatibility, seat crash testing would require out of house testing lab, inadvertent flight into IMC and those lights will be more problematic with fog, smog, clouds, and particulates. Engine testing? component testing? forward skid gear configuration will promote nose dig in in emergency landing. will the instruments be readable under adverse conditions? to concentrate a pilots gaze into those screens will invite mid airs and CFIT accidents. starter generator failure analysis, Gas producer wheel if it is one piece is guaranteed a major failure,

    I mean it is an uncertified experimental build kit at the end of the day so I dont know how mich you can demand but for all the electronics and innovative digital instrument cluster it would be good with a quality rating on the pcb's for the finished type, they are still in dev kit versions at this stage

    Definitely part of the elite class. Because you just know that all this being done in a country where their own government is trying to destroy the country for the lower classes to make them wholey dependant on the government. Yet here these guys are carrying on like not a care in the world and completely unaffected by their tyrannical government. Would be an awesome thing to see develope if it weren't for the knowledge of what's going on behind the scenes.
