  The one you checked with the cell phone definitely was not the correct one. You have to pay attention to how the mushroom looks also from underneath. Herkkutatti is totally different, although it looks very much the same from above. And to anyone watching, please be careful - those that are poisonous can really kill you if eaten, even in small quantities. You must be absolutely sure you have the real thing, like the suppilovahvero at 3:45 that is indeed very good. There are some others that are easy to recognize and really good, like the chanterelle, so start from them and gradually learn new ones.

  Thank you for this, I definitely agree with you. Yeah, it's better to be safe and we are not really sure so better not eat anything😅 Next time, I will go with somebody who knows about mushrooms.

  @@charmainedawn1014 I can add that traditionally, people in western Finland did not eat musrooms before the late 1800's, when the first guide books with pictures were published. That is no doubt because of bad experience and accidents. In Carelia, however, mushrooms were picked and people understood their value. Even during modern times some mushrooms that were commonly used are now avoided. Back in the 1970's we used to pick 'mustarousku' and eat it pickled; nowadays it is known that it may cause cancer. So even mushrooms that are not really heavily poisonous can be harmful to your health in the long run. And of course there is 'korvasieni', deadly poisonous and sooooo delicious when it is correctly prepared. Easy to recognize, perfect taste and deadly poisonous.

  Nice! We were in Finnish Lapland 2 weeks ago for the "Ruska" season! We plucked some berries from just about everywhere! Ate them fresh and sweet ;). Plus the "Poro" they are Lovely and freely roaming around.

  @charmaine. next time we can go foraging together so i can share my ideas how to find those edible mushrooms. Tha last part of ur video which you both picked were the edible funnel wax mushroom, edible ( suppilovahvero) a kind of chanterille. You can smell it, smells good! The red white dots mushroom fly agaric ( kärpässieni) is a deadly mushroom, if u touch it, make sure to wash ur hand.

  Finland is the happiest country because of its quality of life. You can hear from others it is deppresing in the winter or any other reasons foreigners/locals may say, however for me, I feel grateful and happy to be here, and happiness is a state of mind, a decision, you can be complaining for things that are lacking, but if one starts counting the positive sides/good things they have in this country, then one will realize how blessed they are. Personally, I find joy in the little things in life, I learn to be content and I do not depend my happiness through any circumstance, it's mind over matters for me and I always ask from above that my heart be filled with joy. So, for me yes Sir🥰
