Wonderful clutch performance by Steve! Imagine trying to listen to one of the best bands ever and sitting by all those spoiled, yammering Karens trying to look in vogue. Doubtful if they ever bought FM's albums or went to their 70's concerts.

As a drummer of many years hats off to this tec for many reasons . Mick’s playing is sparse meaning he plays for the song the vocalist first and his fills may seem simple but they are extremely hard to time ! The flams African type Tom runs are hard in the fact they leave so much space .If your off it throws everybody off! Also Mick and the bass player are locked meaning they have built in clocks after playing since the 60s and it amazing to hear their feel. It has propelled this band for its entire half a century experiences . To ask a tec to sit in on a kit set up for a guy 6’ 7 is insane. He did a tremendous job under the conditions .This drummer and bass player are a life long team that are to me very under appreciated as they are truly unselfish in their rock solid ability to lay a foundation for this group! Amazing players.

Techs not only know the band's songs better than they do; they often are better musicians as well... Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden for example. As a drum tech, he has better timing and is not using a click track... and he performed without warming up.

I was there and saw Mick continuously vomiting. Poor stagehand cleaning it up around his drums. Nothing ever materialized with getting a refund or a reschedule as promised.

A lot of people don’t realize that drum tech Steve Rinkoff has been playing drums with them for years. He’s been adding percussion to songs like “Tusk”. His percussion setup is right behind Mick’s drum kit - you could miss it if you’re not looking for it. He did yeoman’s work here. As I said in my earlier comment, he totally didn’t suck.

Not the first time this Fleetwood Mac lineup had to cancel a show due to unexpected illness, although possibly the first time for Mick. They cancelled a 1978 Washington DC area show when Lindsey Buckingham got sick. We were already seated and waiting when they announced the cancellation. Rumor was Lindsey was too wasted or hungover to play. Anyway, the rescheduled for a few weeks later and put on a fantastic show. This was their peak and a healthy Lindsey was incredibly intense, really the muscle of the band, if Mick and John were the engine and Stevie and Christine the heart and soul. His playing on I'm So Afraid back then was breathtaking.

In July 1978, Lindsey had a black out seizure, was hospitalized, had a spinal tap and was diagnosed with epilepsy. Mick didn't want to cancel shows and did them last minute. Lindsey returned about a week later, still in incredible pain with an open wound (had to crawl around on the plane trip on his hands & knees). A bit of his return performance - 8.7.78 - kzread.info/dash/bejne/g4aalo-unr3dZdI.html

Twice on occasion the bass player for The Cure has had family emergencies (his wife was dying at the time) and he had to fly back home to England, and his bass tech stepped in for him and played the whole show both times. Granted, it was a bit different as the tech is his son who also is known for playing guitar in his own band and obviously grew up around the Cure and probably grew up playing those songs on bass, but being called up to bat still has tp be somewhat nervewracking, in front of a rabid fanbase. At least he had time to rehearse and the benefit of being his son, Steve here had to do it at the drop of a hat, and did it admirably.
