I would be curious how the sensitivity and ability to catch signals compares with a lower cost device like a $150 SDRPlay or $300 HackRF
Hi, Any chance you could re post a good link to the stl file? Or sell me one printed? Thanks, s
The MFJ antenna analyzer has its own freq. Counter built in
In Chirp, I see Tone, TSQL, and DTCS. Is one better than the other for this PL kind of filtering?
Excellent video! Prices for surplus military is outrageous but seems to be so simple to make.
That was fast, for sure. Definitely faster than Vara HF. BUT, it's not $1,700 faster.
Thank you
WOW very cool. I want one
Thank you for the video, from where can I download the lpserial? thank you
Flared version is slightly better if you turn the VFO slightly from an angle. They are both very functional and aesthetically pleasing at the same time. It's not cheap, but it's hand made of quality components which should last indefinitely.
what it can display the voltage value of PV Input in display?
Wrap items in tin foil too
I get a 404 error page cannot be found for the operator link.
Where can I go to find an alignment company that can check an oscilloscope?
Very few people know that Ham Radio Operators created packet communication and the BBS and the Internet
I can't find your video when you set up the remote monitoring
Great channel you have here. I love the old video on the MFJ949 and the Micom radio!

Thanks for your video. It has showed me more than any other that I have been watching.
I know it’s been a long time you made that video, but would you happen to know how to set it up with life PO batteries?
Switch 4,5,6, in the on position
Hi, i configured devices like you but when i call (outgoing) the ring after two times state change to connected and then nothing happen What should i do, please give help me
Thanks for the interesting video. Now there is a cheap (free with limited speeds) alternative with speeds up to 7000kb/sec. It is software defined and it is called vara HF. It works even better than the pactor used in your older video.
Thank you Sir!
@Commsprepper good evening sir, your video is amazing, my question on dis MORNINGSTAR TRISTAR TS-60A SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLER, can it change li-on lithium batterys? thanks for the answer.

Could you use Putty instead of Hyperterminal?
It's not often that I see someone on YT doing something original with ham radio, so this was quite a surprise. Cool video.
KZread recommended this video 7 years later. How did the discone hold up? A 7 year later follow up video would be great. Also, I like the antenna mast. Did you ever add an extension?
Hey mate,o where did you get the license
How do two scanning stations stay in sync? You guys linked up on 60M each time but was the other station also sending on the other channels? I’m just not entirely clear on how two stations would “find” each other and how each band is tested prior to communications on the chosen band.
This is one of the most informative videos I've seen yet on NMO mounting in a vehicle. I've seen so many other install videos where no one has touched on there being a specific drill bit for an NMO mount, a plug to cover it up if it's removed and a cap to cover it for car washes and such.Very good info to have, thank you.
Had same idea. Much better than any other solution in my opinion. Line them with cardboard as an insulator. You do t want your electronics touching metal. Nice thing is no tape is required. The kids fit so tightly and can be opened and closed as needed without stupid metal tape.
Better than most who just like to repeat what most of us can read in the manuals.
Feels like I missed a few details between 3:44 and 3:45.
Hi May I ask for the software version that you do your demonstration? Means to give me a copy? On Mine there is no 3D Waterflow diagram. That I like it.
Can you provide the Pelican Case part number? Also the insert?
Did you do a programming video.
I have no idea. I think it's a 1410 or something that's 12x8x8. I have various ones.
OVer two minutes on qualifying remarks - that is they way it was years ago. Nobody could say anything without fear of being flamed. Today, I think posters now have the attitude of "I do not give a sh*t if I offend you" - which is a bit of relief cus 2 mins of qualifying your remarss is just way too much
UP date 2024 license is 35.00 my radio is his big brother at 45watts
Thanks 4 the info. KO4ZCJ
I got my technician license in 1988, but couldn't go any further until the code requirement was dropped. Finally, in 2009, I got my general license, and immediately bought a new 718. I'm still using it, and have no desire to buy an expensive new radio. I'm using it with an LDG IT-100 autotuner, which seems to work fine. What I did do, was buy a non working but beautiful condition Yaesu FT-DX 560 tube radio, and completely rebuilt it. That is now my main home radio, and the 718 is mostly used as a portable. I just turned 65, and doubt I will ever buy another HF radio.
They really are good for all around uhf and vhf use. I have one on my truck, and one mounted on a pole for my GMRS base antenna. No complaints here
Great video!
They can be heard, a of them, dont lie dude..
Did you pass away? You've quit posting videos.
Well done fantastic work
without DSP, 718 sucks . noisy receiver
How can your radio hook up to EchoLink
