Insane, the Fuji colors are phenomenal. RAW files are easy to get amazing results. Maybe it’s your choice of software or knowledge of it. You admit you don’t like post. You don’t seem willing to learn this skill, but that doesn’t even take time. I have presets with Alienskin Exposure 7 for the GFX and it’s simply gorgeous. I do custom grading using a film LUT app as well, the camera blows minds. They also use the same sensor and while there will be differences what you’re aiming is purely absurd. I am picking up the 907x 100c, got nothing against Hasselblad, but this is just a silly conclusion. The people echoing it are just advertising their ignorance on how to do basic post. And that says nothing of the SOOC JPEGs Fuji offers.

So I’m a GFX user for 5 years, I know the color thing going on and it affects me, but for the rest I’m quite happy with it. My question to you is what software are you using to process these two systems? I use camera raw, some people use Capture One which nails the color better than CR. But Hasselblad has Pocus which is great for colors but doesn’t work for anything else so you have to go through two different software to get things done.

I've been using light room classic for approx 10 years now. I just stick with that. Phocus isn't my favorite, I should probably spend more time using it. The FUJI portraits came out much nicer with the passport color checker sensor calibration. I went back and applied that color space and was pleasantly surprised. The landscapes were still consistently below standard. I feel like I need to go back to the grand canyon with the X2D and redo everything. I just got back from Maui this week, putting the video together now. The X2D is such a better camera for fine art photography. Still need to do some proper portrait tests. Just waiting on the weather to get nicer here. Thank you for watching and commenting.

It's really nice to grip onto my camera and not hear plastic creaking. Hasselblads are very rare in the wild. Have you held one before? Hasselblad has fallen into the marketing hype ditch! They are super expensive, and super slow for most uses outside of controlled studio, and offer very very little to an already tiny audience - medium format is demanded (need to have), by about 1 percent of people who demand (not want) full frame over apsc… in medium format, the only, not negatable feature of the hasselblad, is the fact that they use leaf shutter instead of traditional shutter…

Hello Will. Thank you for this EXCELLENT comparison of the X2D and the Fuji GFX 100 II. As a Nikon Z System landscape, product and macro photographer, I have been quite satisfied with the image sharpness and detail I obtain from the Nikon Z System (Z7, Z8 and several lenses). However, as I do on occasion produce very large prints *30"x40" and up), I've always had an interest in medium format. So, in your opinion, do you feel that the X2D with, say, the Hasselblad 120/3.5 XCD Macro lens would give me a very substantial improvement in image quality (particularly image sharpness and detail rendition) in the large prints, over either the Fuji or my Nikon Z System? (Also, as I don’t shoot video, that’s another reason the X2D appeals to me, as well as the NCS of the Hasselblad files, since I’m somewhat colorblind, and it sounds like color-correcting the Fuji files would be a nightmare for me in particular!) Thank you sir!

Thank you very much for commenting and subscribing. I had a d610 and 90mm macro lens a while back. Though I wouldn't call the jump substantial, it was noticeable. With large prints, you'll definitely benefit if the viewer wants to get close I had that 120 for a bit, likes to hunt but fanstastic production quality. If you're considering upgrading, the x2d would be a solid gamble. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised Also, b&h + adorama have excellent return policies :)

The 55 looked so good on the camera, and the 38 would be my go to lens if just 1 prime. But sometimes I needed just a little more in the frame. The zoom is really a hell of a lens.
I’m wondering if some of those off colors are coming from that Godox lighting ?
It may have contributed. I shot some portraits a coupled days ago with the x2d and that godox. I still prefer the hasselblad images
I am Fuji all the way, in the end all the images are edited. If people think the color is better, go ahead and pay more. 😅
This is beautiful, Wil. And I feel for you - dogs are the best of us. That statement by Chief Crowfoot is powerful - I just shared it with my kids. You helped inspire me to buy the X2D, which I did a few weeks ago (love it). Your shots are are absolutely gorgeous. Thanks, mate. PS. That little guy at the end is adorable! New member of the family...?
Thank you very much for the kind words & compliment. Congrats on your new X2D, enjoy it in good health. My pups name is Luna, she's 9 years old now. But, at 2.2kgs I still consider her a puppy. They really are the best of us. Thank you again for the thoughtful comment.
@@WILMORENO You seem like a hell of a nice guy, Wil. You have a very honest, straightforward way about you. I hope this channel becomes everything you wish for.
just bought my Hasselblad X2D and was curious to see your images from this camera.
I did switch to Fuji once that hfx100ii was announced. Then went right back to hb. Ive got a video "gfx100ii vs x2d" going into details. Fuji looks good on paper, HB wins in image quality. And that's what matters most to me. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment
Hands going numb in 40 degree weather? Are you from Florida or Arizona?
Did you know that the rest of maui is a different temperature?
Thanks for the great comparison! For me, it was a very useful point of view. Question, have you been able to assess the new firmware of the X2D, especially for autofocus?
Thank you for your comment. Im currently using the 35-75 and have no real issues w.autofocus. The only bummer about the live view is that you can't use the self timer. So, no selfies unless you want to be holding your phone/ipad in the picture. I had trouble with the 80 1.9 af in the past. I need to get my hands on a portrait lens soon so I can have a solid stance. Thanks again!
I got my degree in flexography in 2007. I was running printing presses and using a spectrodensitometer back then. In this video I mention color calibrating my fuji sensor with 2 different professional tools... Lastly, I bought alien skin exposure back in 2013.
We need an update! Is the X2D still working out for you??
Hey! thanks for checking in. Absolutely, the camera is magic. Im about 90% done w.the new video. I need to figure out a more efficient way to make yt videos.
Very good review, is it good for landscape photos and urban portraits ?
it's absolutely incredible for landscapes. in my opinion there's no better landscape camera at the moment. working on a video about that now. Since the weather is getting nicer, I'll be doing some portrait shoots w/it. I don't want to say yet until I have a solid opinion. Thank you for watching
@@WILMORENO Your content is very good and thanks for responding.
Nice comparison. I’ve been using the GFX100 since its release five years ago. 32-64 is my walk around lens (even over the 45), and the 110 is an entire reason to shoot GFX. I wish there were GF adapters for the hassy
I'm still chasing that 110 high. Glad to hear we have similar thoughts. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Loved your purchasing neurosis! I definitely agree with you on knowing is you like a lens after just a couple of pictures.
Ha thanks man, it's been a journey
I am thinking to get latest GFX with 45-100 (as you said boring lens). And I think you are probably right. But to get it and understand it I need to go through all the way and probably set myself to Hasselblad. Can you please tell did you try to play Fuji colors with Capture One or it was a Lightroom? I have heard many times Capture One brings Fuji colors to life. Thanks for video
Hey thanks for your question. I didnt use capture one. Ill say that after calibrating the sensor with the passport color checker. The calibrated sensor profile yielded much better results in LR. But my grand canyon stuff was still way below standards, even with the sensor calibration. Just got back from Hawaii with the x2d. Its insane how much better of a perfomer the x2d is when it comes to image quality. These images are my favorites after 30 years of photography. Working on that video now.
@@WILMORENO thank you for reply. I set myself to GFX100II because of eye tracking. It works really fine. Not so good as R5 of cause, but decent. For landscapes I think I would go for Hasselblad too because of colors
show those Hawaii pics
Working on it now! I got some goood stuff, can't wait to share it.
Wil if you could post the raw files of the same scene taken with the two different cameras would be great. Thanks
At 08:18 that picture of the dock and then model is the same location. I dont have the gfx anymore 🤷
Thank you for your reply Wil.
110 is the best lens created
That's fair
would be nice ion you could show us what you mean I'm saying the fuji 110 photos you showed were insane I'm a pro photographer and I know what looks good can you show us the Hassleblad portraits and skin tones to compare. I never shot with either of these. but I had raw files from the original hassleblad x1d and compared to the 50r and 100s I didn't like it. you have experience with both would love top see what you mean side to side.
Man I lost a small fortune changing systems. Maybe one day ill have another fuji in hand. But right now all my funds are going to hb accessories. That 110 lens really is nice, im learning I can just get the same compression by backing up and cropping in . Thank you for the compliment and for watching my video. Im going to hawaii tomorrow, will make an x2d update with the content I get there
Just subbed. Best wishes with your new channel! Looking forward to seeing more X2D content. I owned new Blads back in the 90s, 501C kit (80mm C lens), 180mm CF lens, & 903SWC with a couple of viewfinders. I’m salivating for the X2D, but I would like new XCD V versions of the 21mm and 135mm. Cheers
Very nice. I had a 503cx for a while with the 80 and 120. Other than the X2D, that was my favorite camera. I feel like owning a Hasselblad is really treating yourself. FWIW I really like the xcd lenses. But, I'm hoping they make a fast telephoto lens soon. Thank you for the support
Hot pixels are gone when using Phocus software from Hasselblad.
They were on my lcd screen.
I'm on my 5th X2D body, luckily the lens is mounted tight and there are no hot pixels. Planning on keeping it for a very long time
You think that the build quality of the GFX100S feels cheap??? LOL - you will never give any mirrorless a second glance then, because also having a gfx 100s- it’s extremely well built, compared to most any other camera- maybe a slight second to the gfx 50R
Google gfx 100s tripod mount failure. I didn't think my leica q or m11 was built poorly. You're 0-2 on this subject. Enjoy your fuji.
@@WILMORENO just did google it, at your request- and if you call this proof… well…! It’s one review of the camera at the base issue you propose to prove that the entire camera is built poorly- ONE!!! All of the rest are not documented, or reference that one - and in any case - i always outfit any reasonably expensive camera with SmallRig L brackets … so there you are! It’s of course not ok if that one report of an issue turns out to be valid - but…ONE???
@Mortenthorpe-DK I got my first camera in 1992. Took film photography class in high school. Later, I sold cameras while in college. I've been handling them for a very long time... For what it's worth, I think the canon Rs are also poorly built. The new z9 feels nice. Also, I'm a competitive armwrestler with a 208 lb. grip strength on a hand dynamometer. It's really nice to grip onto my camera and not hear plastic creaking. Hasselblads are very rare in the wild. Have you held one before? Seems everyone who's handle both agree that the fuji isn't near the same quality.
@@WILMORENO at the price of a hasselblad, also considering its limited niche use - autofocus speed and such, compared to a gfx… i would be disappointed if hasselblad did not deliver a bit more than fuji… would you say that this is fair? And yes, i have held that camera- it’s a nice build, but the pricing is outrageous
I mean the x2d is almost the same price as the 100ii @@Mortenthorpe-DK - you're probably better off with a regular ff mirrorless camera if performance is the concern. I gotta say the Hasselblad is more inspiring to have in my hand. That's worth a lot to me.
I'm in for your channel bro. And I like this video especially your honest comparison on both cameras. I'm glad you chose the Hasselblad.
Thanks for watching and commenting
I have 15K invested in this junk …biggest mistake ever ,…
care to elaborate?
Yes I do care to elaborate,.. Lenses are not sharp simply stated 100 mega pixel rendition from an unsharp lens. It’s an unsharp image.
See that’s what I’m saying ,..this company “ Hasselblad “ is crap ,.. I bought everything from the Hasselblad store they sent me a 65 mm lens in a Pre-opened, box. I’m living in Panama cost me $200 to send it back they sent me a second 65 mm lens in a pre-opened, box…. They refused to allow it to be returned,…WTF
They are junk ,..the images are soft ,,the least bit of cropping and the image turns to mush …
I liked your last two videos man. Subscribed. Looking forward for more. You mentioned that when you went into the GFX system, you found your lenses pretty quickly which you liked. What are your lenses for the Hasselblad now that you're back?
Hey Oliver, thanks for your support. It's a little to early to say right now but I've been using the 35-75 only. It hasn't failed me in any department yet. It's a really, really nice lens. But I did like the 38 and 65 and 80 the best from my last run. I think the 128 would be nice, just not sure if I can justify the purchase at the moment. Thanks again
Technically it is not even close to Fuji, so, would i choose it just because it has a bit better colour science? nah. And i'm pretty sure, Fuji will fix those colours with the upcoming firmwares.
Thanks for your comment. Enjoy the Fuji!
@@WILMORENO thank you for this comparison. I'm dreaming about Fuji so far)
8:20 I was searching for this Dog, where is this Dog he‘s talking about. Watched it a couple of times until I realized… 😅 lol
Thanks for the multiple views. Sometimes I mumble, been trying to work on that
