This is why I really like having the dictionary function on my kindle. I agree with you as my vocabulary grows with every book - I also believe his books have gotten so much better with each novel, as does his vocabulary.

Great interview by Eithne Shorthall - and a really interesting format . Joesph O'Connor is a great guest. I totally agree with Joseph O'Connor about CATCHER IN THE RYE - it is also one of my top 10 books. It is the first book that ever really spoke to me an an alienated teenager -and as I age - I too see other different things in this great novel. I was a bit surprised O'Connor chose "DRACULA" . For me "DRACULA" is a bit of a clunky novel - For example letter writer 1 ""takes you to point "A" in the storyline and then letter writer 2 takes you to point "B" in the storyline. Yet both letter writers are unknown to each other. I think "FRANKENSTEIN" is a far superior novel to" DRACULA" and Frankenstein makes my top 10. Interesting comments about "MY COUSIN RACHAEL by Daphne du Maurier - I have never read this book and I will now as the ending sounds fascinating. PROUST? - eh, no thanks as I hate very long sentences. This idea of writers selecting their favourites books is brilliant and I would like to see it extended to included non - Irish writers. Joesph O'Connor was great company and I a really looking forward to the John Connolly interview
