Learning new things every day is probably the number one reason why I love electrical wiring.

I also share with you some tips and tricks for mechanical problems, and many other things I do every day in my workshop.

Those twist on connectors should be outlawed. I replaced so many of those when I worked for Brighthouse Networks for being the colprit of all kinds of problems.

I would like to try this someday to replace the under hood light bulb switch in my dad's truck. I will use a test light probe to make sure electricity is getting to the switch. If there is electricity then the switch itself is bad. The switch is Mercury controlled to turn on at an angle, But I like to replace it with a on off switch. I'll have to figure out how to properly dispose of the mercury switch

Fun project idea! A soldering tutorial i watched says to heat one side of the solder joint and touch solder wire other side to melt the solder onto the solder joint. They say mistake is to apply solder directly from the soldering iron. So i feel like this technique may help you in your soldering! kzread.info/dash/bejne/g6Snm9moharRpqw.htmlm4s

Falsche Länge abisoliert. Es muß immer mehr abisoliert werden als der Kabelschuh lang ist, da der Kabelschuh beim Verpressen sich verformt ubd länger wird. Falsch gepresst. Man fängt vom Loch her an. Es gibt von Klauke eine Pressanleitung.

Wrong crimp direction. Proper crimp direction is from inside out of the terminal lug not from outside in . Proper crimp direction helps to reduce pressure of crimped material inside the terminal lug.

Always start from the hole point to the cable side. Otherwise you press the copper from the lug further from the cable itself leaving a hollow space between cable and lug when you are done.

Now if you drill the front out with a small hole. Then With a torch and solder you can completely fill the inside with solder. That’s how we fabricate our bonding/Grouding straps. Elements be damned, nothings getting in. Then some industrial heat shrink and bam! Pro leads.

just use a pair of coaxial strippers?? this whole procedure becomes 5 seconds. i swear no electricians know this and i've come across so many terribly crimped cable ends that cause faults over the years that just havent been stripped or pushed on properly.
