Watch as my skills grow. This channel will be a mix of projects that I complete and tool reviews. I really enjoy woodworking and have been doing it little by little since I was in high school. I am not an expert so mistakes will be made but hopefully I can share my experiences and help others learn along with me.

This is an educational show, learn ing something like this is terrific.
You might have done better using both hands big dog. That didnt look like an even shave.
The board was a little off. Hahahah
What was the lesson?
Not to spend hours cleaning and making a handle for a saw before testing to make sure it works
Did you ever figure out what that is?
Yes, it’s called an Icnuman wasp. The long tail is used to lay its eggs into ash wood. I have a video where I mill some up and pull all the larva out.
Great idea! Well done, thanks for posting.
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching.
Handplanes are some of the most satisfying tools to use
I still don't know what you did wrong, but now you can resell it for $5 hahaha
The blade is bent and I never checked it before doing all that work.
Very good video work nice and clean good to see young'n helping and learning how to do stuff brilliant. Carry on the good work mate mate 👍👌👏
Thank you very much!
Damn handle backwards
Species is ipe
Oh wow, thank you Daniel. Just looked it up and apparently it is good for tool handles, haha. I guessed correctly with that.
Great tutorial and your kid picking on your mistake, classic!
Thank you so much!!
Live and learn indeed. Glad you enjoyed the experience and gave it a shot. That's the beauty of life isn't it? Great Vid and total RockStar attitude 😎 Keep Shining ✨💎
It sure is. Thank you, I’ll keep trying.
Oh jeez 🥴 But you still had fun and both learned and taught. Overall success 👍
Thank you, it was an experience. Hahaha
Hysterical! Great attitude and ya live and ya learn indeed.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great bit of work getting some timber. Nothing worse than seeing a tree go to waste.
My thoughts exactly. Tried to get some use out of it. It’s almost dry and ready to use
Great video. I can’t wait to watch some more of your stuff. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much!!!
You should wear your respirator and ear protection while attempting to watch this video
Not sure about the respirator but definitely the ear protection. I’ll get that sound all fixed on the next one. 🤣
How wide is it and how thick of material are you using grate video trying to make me one thanks
@donaldjauregui1625 I made it specific to the dimensions of my bench to avoid bolts and screws. It’s 22 inches wide and I’m using 3/4 inch poplar. The face consists of two glued together for 1 1/2 inch thickness and the back is 3/4 attached to 1 inch thick pine since that is the frame of my bench. Let me know how yours turns out.
@@woodnotestudio it’s 22” long then how wide is it
@@donaldjauregui1625 it’s 7” wide since that’s how wide the board I had was. I wouldn’t go smaller than 4”
I have a couple of those made by Pony for a different purpose. I never thought about using them for a Moxon. I ended up buying some 3/4" Acme rod and nuts to make my own. This would have been cheaper and easier for sure!
Yeah they work really well. Thank you for watching.
I'm interested to see how durable the press clamps are in this application over time. I intend building a new moxon vice for the new bench and was thinking of using the press clamps for the same reason you have. I intend having springs around the screw thread between the two jaws to naturally keep the jaw spread for ease of use. That will require a two stage diametre hole in both the fixed and floating jaw around the screw thread.
I love the idea of the springs. I might add that later down the road. The quality of the metal seems pretty good so I think it would hold up for a long time. I will post if anything fails on it.
Please accept this a honest criticism. Watching this video was difficult as the music was to loud and your voice over was to soft. I had to adjust my volume all the time. Should I stumble upon another video again and if your audio is balanced out, I will subscribe as your work is good. All the best.
Thank you very much. I completely understand and will have it fixed on all future videos. I know what the problem is and if I am unable to balance out the music I will remove it. Apparently people don’t care that much about it. Thank you again for feedback and hope to get another chance for you to consider subscribing.
@@woodnotestudioThe problem with music is not everyone will like your choice of music. I simply won't watch a video of I don't like the music. Just do some voice over about what your doing, explaining what's going on, etc...
@@ScottPartridge-uc4iz that is a good point. Thank you.
please don't use music or if you do have it playing SOFTLY in the background. Thanks.
Thank you, I thought I had that figured out but I’m still learning. I will have it fixed on my next video or I won’t have any music.
Love my moxin vice !! I’ve built several of them ! This is a great design integrating into the bench ! Love it ! Keep it up brother
Thank you Daniel. I hope I linked to your video correctly. It’s the dove tail making one that inspired me to build this so I can start cutting dovetails by hand. If I didn’t just let me know or post a better one and I will pin it to the top.
Those “press clamps” are actually “hole mount screw clamps”. Press clamps are used with a drill press.
I’m not sure, but the box they came in said they were press clamps. But what you’re saying definitely makes sense. Thank you.
They are advertised as Press Clamps.
I believe this style of clamp is traditionally used in a "book press", so they call it a "press clamp."
@@red58impala you are absolutely correct. You just take off the end and are all set to go.
Love the video, great content and great value. But one suggestion would be to reduce the volume of the background music as I need to keep raising and lowering the volume on KZread to hear your voice versus the music my suggestion only but keep up the great videos.
Thank you very much. I’m trying to figure that issue out. I thought I had it but when I posted it, it was back to being too loud. I’ll figure it out on the next one, hopefully.
Thanks man
Your young assistant is diligent and learning alongside you…priceless!
He really is. He will be teaching me soon!!!
Love these videos
Thank you
I really like that idea! Now I have to make me one 😂
If you need one it's a nice and easy build. I'm glad you liked it, see you Bearded Viking soon.
Very cool!

Thank you. That’s the plan. Increasing the value of the wood species each time.
No point
It’s fun to us and to show appreciation for whoever subscribed to my channel.

Congrats dude i wish you the best !!!!
Thank you so much!!!
Subscribed god bless you guys
Thank you so much!!!
Nice and wholesome. Good luck in your journey fellas
Thank you so much. We are really enjoying it.
What are you thoughts on the brass wheels over the stones? Thinking to make new wheels out of PA6 or POM rod. Putting o-ring on them only work when they are placed on the outer side of the guide is my experience due to small clearance between wheel and inside housing.
So far mine have been holding up and remember to push down on the blade when you’re sharpening and not the honing guide itself. If you do replace them let me know how it works out.
Bought myself exactly the same honing guide. Not the angle guide, making my own stop guide to save some pennies. Use a Trend 300/1000 diamond plate + 4000 Shapton glass stone, might buy a 8000 later. Will make a leather strop later as well.
The angle guide isn’t needed since you can just use the honing guide to figure out the angle but I didn’t realize that until after I bought it. The 8000 is going to make a difference on getting really close to a razor sharp blade and then making your own leather strop is wise. Very well done.
100 already!!! Keep going!!!
I didn’t expect it to happen so quick. Thank you. Now I have to make the next plaque and prepare for the next milestone which will be 500!!!
Subscribed. 5 more to go! Keep it up, guys.🎉
Awesome! Thank you!
Keep it up Rich ! So good seeing genuine woodworkers on here ! Skäl 🫡
Thank you Daniel. Can’t wait to see that Mallet on your live tonight @Bearded-Viking-WoodWorks
Keep expecting the Road Runner to speed through and Whiley Coyote to get caught in the band saw 😂
That would have made that so much better
Great Vid! I should've watched this sooner 😂 Very Informative 🤘🏼
Thank you. Maybe there will be a next time and it can help. Hahaha
@@woodnotestudio Oh there will be 😂 I never stop learning.
Well done 👍🏼 Keep the vids coming!
Thank you, will do.
Beautiful!
