Fear is wrong word...Respect is. You never fear that which loves you
@EquippedDisciple11 күн бұрын
I agree with you to a point, but there is also a sense of trembling due to God’s great power and I believe is mostly necessary because of the presence of our sin nature. Fear of His judgment of our sin etc.. יִרְאָה (yirʾâ). n. fem. fear, terror. Refers to the emotion or feeling or state of being afraid, terrified, or in awe. While yirʾâ may refer to fear in the natural sense, such as fear of “briars and thornbushes” (Isa 7:25), the majority of the time this noun appears with respect to the fear of God, either in the sense of proper reverence for God (Gen 20:11; Exod 20:20; Psa 5:7) or in the sense of fear at the awesome power of God (Deut 2:25; Psa 90:11). The repeated statements that the “fear” of God is the central aspect of wisdom all use yirʾâ (Job 28:28; Psa 111:10; Prov 1:7; 9:10).

Fear is not the wrong word. My grandfather loved me. And it's because he loved me, I know what his belt felt like. He didn't hit me because he hated me. He hit me because he knows he will hold back and life won't. God is our Father. I love Him, and I fear Him, because He loves me.

Fear is the wrong word. you were not afraid of your Grandfather. Shaking from awe is much different than shaking from fear. You curse that which you fear. You emulate that which you love.

Is it wrong to say we are all sinful, is that universalism? Can you speak for the brothers and sisters who are righteous

The Bible clearly tells us that there is none righteous. So I am not sure who I would be speaking to… unless you are talking about those clothed in the righteousness of Christ… is that what you mean?

Why would anyone want to worship a god they have to fear? It is written in Deuteronomy exactly what your "loving" god will do to you if you dont worship him. He threatens all kinds of deseases and deaths for people and mens wifes will be raped. Vile.
