    There's a recent CD & LP anthology that should get them reappraised - a great review in Vive Le Rock.. Also their BBC Peel Sessions are out on vinyl; later there'll be a CD Box set.

    @@ianheath4332 Great! Btw, the nice white guitar he played (was it a Gretch?), he later sold to local band Radiohead, who used it for years. And who in recent years put it up for sale, for a charity I think. Don't think it went to a Play Dead fan though!

    I met Jerry and Johnny when they lived in Stockholm, Sweden. Healthwise, they were pretty ok back then, thanks to the methadone program they were on. Jammed with Johnny several times and he was a sweetheart. It was unreal for me, a young drummer who grew up on Iggy & The Stooges, New York Dolls and Ramones, playing New York Dolls and The Heartbreakers classics with the man, the myth, the legend. Clem Burke is such a class act, the way he speaks about The Heartbreakers...

    He played some excellent music on his Themetime Radio shows, and no doubt got assistance from radio producers. So it was probably they who gave him a little background info on each artist.

    The brought Nancy with them and the rest is history unfortunately

  • @junglerecords
    @junglerecords20 күн бұрын

    I don't believe Jerry brought Nancy to London; she heard about the scene in London and followed the Heartbreakers over. Almost to the point of stalking Jerry from some accounts. Then she wanted to bag herself a Pistol; Johnny wouldn't play so she chose Sid instead.

    These guys, Alien Sex Fiend, Christian Death, 45 Grave and a host of others at the time were monumental in my high school years. For those that missed it, start with; Alien Sex Fiend; RIP (Blue Crumb Truck), Christian Death: Romeo’s Distress or Dogs or Deathwish, and Partytime by 45 Grave,

    Met Sean a couple of times when I started working at Kensington Market. A lovely guy. Wild, intense and gentle like a good Heathen should be. A little scary if you couldnt see though the Matrix. And then he disappeared, I guess that's when he perished. Astral Joe is in a bit of all of us some more than others. RIP Sean.

    I do not believe that is Bob Dylan's voice. It is too silly. It sounds like an impersonator. It is!!! Also, Dylan WOULD NOT discuss either J Thunders or the N.Y Dolls. He just wouldn't.
