  The series Two RX8 R3 where all 2009 models, not 2008. All 2008 RX8 were still Series One models. There were NO R3 models yet in 2008. Please know your RX8 facts. .

  If only they were more fuel efficient I’d have one. I loved my dads until I borrowed it and did 1/4 tank in 11 miles. They drive incredibly well. Looking at mx5’s now instead. Or maybe a GT86 at a push.

  I *really* want to trade my 2011 bmw 116d for one of these while I’m still well enough to enjoy one. I can’t get out easily to drive one though and can’t see one locally. I can pay the difference in gold bullion, or cash but how cool would that be 😂 It’d be my only vehicle and I’m a bit apprehensive to take a blind plunge. Love the hardtop though.

  The rotary engine in the RX-8 can suffer low compression which leads to starting and running issues, particularly if not looked after well. The R3 / Series 2 cars like you see in this video were less prone to it as the oil lubrication is improved. All the RX-8s I sell are compression tested so the buyer has a guideline as to the health of the engine at time of sale . Cheers, Nick

  It’s a well established notion that running a car low on fuel is a bad idea. Seeing the fuel dial sitting on “E” next to the yellow glow makes me wonder what else has been overlooked.

  Luckily for you the car was sold ages ago so it’s not something you’ll need to worry about. Thanks for sharing your ‘notion’ though anyway. If you get a chance, pop the lid off an RX-8 fuel tank and you’ll see why low fuel isn’t an issue 👍

  The S2 or R3 post 2009 are good cars. The Series 1 was full of self induced problems.
