Pretty COOL 😎
Hi I'm a new subscriber love watching your videos👍👍👍👍🌼🦋🌷🌺💐🌹🌸🌻 thank you for sharing🤗🤗🤗🤗 have a Blessed day💜💜💜💜
I wish I saw this20 years ago. I’m afraid I’m one of those “want it all” types. I have all the oxides, plus other inks. I’m revisiting my Oxides and I’m really trying to use what I have. Not buying many stamps anymore but I’m buying stencils which I can use in my card making and in art journals. I appreciate the info. on the paint. I’m new to art journals. Looking forward to part 2.
I wish I had the knowledge I have now back when I started. As usual I learned these things by making the mistake.
I completely agree with you. And Dylousions and Dina Wakley are overpriced junk . I've wasted hundreds on their products and felt nothing but frustration. Ranger is such a rip off! Yes I said it!!! No one with a tube channel has the courage to.
I have not even tried their paints so I can't tell you anything about them...strictly on the price point I don't buy them. Why spend more when I get what I want from my student grade paint.
Good information ❤
Glad you think so!
Loved this! Thank you!! ❤
You are so welcome!
Hello Karen. Great info !! I agree with you about the latest and greatest product, my "want monster" certainly does show it's ugly side 🙃 I find the ultra cheapo supplies are more of a waste of money than a middle of the road cost... I ended up throwing out all the cheap paints because they just weren't good enough quality. Having said that, I also don't purchase artist grade products, I'm quite happy with my student grade. Like you said, it doesn't have to survive forever.... Take care and see you soon 🤗
I stick to the middle of the road. And if the product doesnt work the way I need it to...I "donate" it ASAP...no need to store it...and think it will magically improve LOL K
H, Karen This is great information. In my garden when I try a plant I'm not familiar with I buy 3. I put them in 3 growing conditions, different soil, light, water requirements etc. If all 3 die I don't buy any more. If they do great I buy more, maybe in a different variety or color. If only 1 made it I have to decide whether I even have room for more in that location and do I like the plant well enough. I try to do the same with my art supplies Looking forward to the rest of the series. Nancy
I love the plant analogy. Thanks for your comments K
Good information ❤
Glad you think so! K
Glad you think so!
Hello Karen. I like both, but I really like the reds, yellows and oranges. That one just pops out and says what your sentiment is saying. ( I hope that makes sense). Joy Joy Joy... 🤗
Thank you so much! It's my preference too. K
Why don't they have faces?
artist of the dolls just didnt put them on...K
I liked the black grid in the background of the first design. I like the dotted outlines. I preferred the thinner outlines in white. I don't like the way the sentiment seems slapped on rather than really integrated into the design. (I have a bias for die-cut sentiments for this reason.) I like the second backgound and the pen work. The sentiment is better integrated (if a bit redundant).
There are components of each that I like/dislike would do again/ would not do again. K
Hmmmm. I like them both. I enjoyed the “journey” of you fixing the first one. I also liked the trivet stamping. Thanks, Karen.
Thank you. I always enjoy the journey...that's when I learn the most. K
Love the warm colors and splashes of gold on the second one. Also seems more balanced. Thank you for sharing both and explaining about your process. As a new person to mixed media it's much appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed it! Take what you can from my experiences....and then create create create and enjoy the process. K
❤ both!
LOL
Great tutorial...thanks!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
This s really fun! 😍
Glad you think so!
You are the best teacher!
Wow, thank you!
How do you know if you should shade on the inside or outside of a circle or other image?
Sometimes I do one , sometimes the other...and sometimes I do both....I try and see if it's giving me the effect I like.
No cheating, You are doing mixed media as I see it, You are inspiring me, a lot!
Thanks so much. K
That is so amazingly beautiful 😍
Thank you! Cheers!
How very creative, beautiful
Many many thanks
I always enjoy for videos and learn so much. Thank you ❤

Gorgeous fun page Karen..love the colours 😊
Thank you Jennifer. K
Fabulous!
Thanks K
I’m glad you left the flower mainly white with just enough color to blend in. This is a great page, Karen.
Thanks so much. glad you liked it .K
Adorable
Thank you . K
Love it, Karen!!
Thanks so much. K
I like both. However, I do like the leaf stencil better on the 2nd one.
Thank you for your comment. K
Amazing job
Thank you >
all are awesome
Thank you, I do love gelli printing. K
Thankyou for this information
Saves $ and space. K
Wow! Karen, i love this! Just found this vid while scrolling for ideas for something else. Love this. Thank you.
thank you so much. Glad you found me. K
Beautiful page! I got a big set of inktense pencils at an estate sale, but I haven’t used them much yet. Will they work basically the same way as the blocks? I know they are also permanent when dry.
They will work in same way...you will have to make a pool of ink color and then paint it on. I find coloring with them they leave an indentation or it's hard to get them all activated. K
turned out so pretty
Thanks so much. K
Encore une jolie page, plaisir à vous regarder.
Merci beaucoup pour votre agréable commentaire
Hi, Karen Very pretty. I like the way you used your flower/star stencil. I think I have that one. I know you do it all the time, but my brain still forgets sometimes about using just part of a stencil unless it was obviously designed that way. Nancy
LOL You just gave me an idea for a video. Thanks. Stay tuned. K
Beautiful as always
Thank you! 😊
What mix ratio would you recommend (using the silver metallic)?
The great thing is you can adjust the ratio and get different tones...I'd start with 50/50 and adjust as you wish...or alternatively start with less silver and add till you get desired tone
This was fabulous! First time to your channel. I will be back.
Welcome! Glad you have you watching. K
Lovely! I did this with the ugly black plastic pots that plants come in. As they weather, I just mod podge more scraps on top.
Ohhh I love the idea of covering those plastic pots...and just adding more layers...K
Hello Karen. I love both styles! I can't choose. But I'm more comfortable with making the vintage colours. 🤗
I've always found vintage so easy. K
Waahh I really like this but don't see the video on how to use them. Was really hoping for that.
I had every intention of making that follow up video...actually started and ran into tech difficulties. Then it got forgotten. Good news is I found those sheets and can still do it.
@@KarenBurchill oh yay! I was going to bother you, but after bingeing your videos half the night my resistance was down, lol, and now I'm glad I did. Great body of work here, hope I ever get anything done anywhere else!
Oh my goodness!!! I LOVE both these projects. So beautiful. Thank you for the amazing tutorial.
Thank you so much! They were fun to make.
I appreciate that you give the rational for your materials choices.
thank you. I think I do that as a throw back to my days as a teacher. K
Beautiful
Thank you
Waouh ! La grande page est superbe, merci du partage.
Merci beaucoup. Content que ça te plaise
If I didn’t see you make these, I don’t know that I would believe these started out as napkins. Incredible coloring and beautiful results. Since I’m basically a card maker, I’m leaning towards the 6x6 project as a favorite, however, I do love your journal pages. After watching one of your videos, I went out and bought the unbleached titanium…and love it. How heavy is the card stock that you are using for the 6x6? Thank you.
Thank you. I find it's often surprising to see how something is made. I like to see an end product/page and try to figure out how they got there....
