    My 2017 370Z does just what I want it to. Good speed and very good handling for an affordable price. Plus, it looks awesome. I do have some dings like the clutch. Overall I enjoy it.

    My own observations from owning a 370z: 1. It's not an ugly ass SUV 2. It's not an ugly ass Tesla 3. It's not an ugly ass American pickup 4. It can turn left and right unlike Mustangs 5. The dash is not covered in enormous crappy LCDs everywhere and garbage infotainment crap.

    where is your MAF sensor? Im not a honda guy but i notice you were running it without a intake which is typically where a maf sensor is. To me that looks like it would explain the poor idle.

  • @wheniztheend

    they tend to be right after the intake. And it's a Map sensor, not a MAF.

    Had a similar issue on my integra it turned out to he the camshaft position sensor. Not sure if you have looked at that yet.

  • @auraKittyyy
    @auraKittyyyАй бұрын

    Okay so....I had something very similar happen to me on my 1987 Gen1 Acura Integra. Basically when I first bought her, she wasn't able to rev, and would idle surge. If I gave it any kind of intense throttle it would just choke up and eventually stall/die. Nothing ever happened when she got warm, so sadly idk how to help there. Could be simple as a temp sensor idk. But yeah its similar but different but could be the same thing? Worth a shot. But basically what I did was took off the throttle body, checked the gasket there (it had none so previous owner messed that up) replaced it, it helped but was still there. What ended up fixing it for good was literally cleaning the vacuum lines that go directly into the throttle body out. Apparently there was just dust and grime in the lines that was blocking the proper air reading from being read further down the line by a sensor, and causing the weird idle/throttle issue. I know you said you checked em for leaks, but mine weren't leaking and it was still the issue. So yeah check the throttle body vacuum lines and clean them out with some compressed air or brake clean (off the car ofc) or something. As well as checking if there is a sensor at the end of any of those lines and cleaning that out too. I really hope that made sense and if you have any questions hopefully I can help.

    In this scenario you have to manually tune the car. Get in there and change the A\F ratios per rpm, you are going to need the appropriate software though, I don't know how much it would cost in your case.. I've fixed lots of motorcycles with the same problem. Someone put a bad generic tune and replaced this and that but I always fixed them with a custom manual tune. Don't rely on some one else's generic tune with a modified car, no two engines are the same, especially after 20 years.Taking on a non running diy turbo job is rolling the dice lol.

    My j31 accord started surging ad dieing because the emissions system plugged up the motor with carbon. I sold it to a friend, still has issues and it's been gone through. My assumption is the heads need walnut blasted and all emissions deleted... idk about the prelude tho

  • @itsMBWAAA

    The dreaded prelude curse lol. I thought surging idle was a feature in those fifth gen preludes lol. Have you checked out the Honda prelude and the 5th gen Honda prelude fb groups? The boosted h/f group? There’s gotta be someone in one of those groups that has an idea out of the normal iacv fitv stuff. The HONDA PRELUDE fb group is pretty terribly toxic tho lol

    I've had a 2018 370Z Heritage 6sp for 5 years now it was a Nissan Exec car I purchased when 1 year old 4000 miles. I got a 7-100000 drivetrain warranty I had a airbag light issue that took a while to be repaired but no problems otherwise. I live in a northern state so it only gets about 4k miles a year but I enjoy it now as much when it was new. It's a great blend of speed and handling and I liked it so much I purchased 2 Frontiers for my everyday and hauling needs.

It shares my garage with 2 2019 Nissan Frontiers a ex cab and a crew cab. I have had great luck with Nissans.
