    Hey you should go through King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizards discography. They are the most interesting, prolific, and original band around right now, doing everything from thrash metal to dream pop, progressive, psych rock, hip-hop, indie pop, Middle Eastern music, blues, experimental, list goes on. The evolution of their music from album to album is incredible.

    Coal Chamber are my favorite of this era/genre. They were all about riffs and grooves. The guitarist Meegs does a lot of the screams and yells but Dez is the main vocalist. The drummer is awesome in live videos, some really intricate patterns and super powerful. And of course, Rayna on bass

    There was a time when Nu metal was only Korn, Deftones and Coal Chamber, I think you will enjoy a lot the next album Chamber Music. Very funny watching you telling spanish bad words hehe. I still listen some of this songs in my playlist, every time I enjoy more the drums, a very unique style ❤

    Roddy Bottum is ALL the synths, keyboards and other non rock band sounds for Faith No More. Also Mike Gould is a master on the bass just driving every song. This is the album that first got me into Faith No More. Albums 6 and 7 (album of the year and sol invictus) are well worth hearing, and like the rest of their records pretty damn unique. I can't say too much about their first three albums with a different singer, i feel like they were a bit more funk oriented, and ive heard a number of songs from the We Care A Lot album.

    The first time I heard "Clock" by Coal Chamber, I thought the chorus was, "Squawk! Here comes the beak!" I've never been able to unhear it.

    There are a handful of double albums that stand above the others. Some are short enough that they may not be called a double album today. Blonde on Blonde, Exile on Main St., Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, London Calling and Electric Ladyland, for instance, would fit on one CD. The White Album, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Quadrophenia, and Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness wouldn't. The Wall clocks in at exactly 80 minutes... too close to the line to be one but a few seconds less and it would have fit. Physical Graffiti needs to be on everyone's list. and Joe's Garage... don't forget Joe's Garage.

    Wow Molly. I never thought you would be reacting to this band. They sort of fell off everyone's radar, but they were great when they first came out. I remember seeing them in concert opening up for Anthrax and Pantera back in the late 90s. If you go with more metal bands, I would love to see you react to Sepultura.

  • @mollyesanborn
    @mollyesanborn3 күн бұрын

    Yeah I really didn't know what to expect going into this reaction, but Coal Chamber is great! I love how they fuse such a dark, creepy atmosphere with tons of intensity. I've actually done a Sepultura reaction already on the channel, although so far I've only heard Roots from them. I definitely need to check out more of their albums. Here is the link to the Roots reaction if you're interested :) kzread.info/dash/bejne/iqJ3xsycfczRnqQ.htmlsi=KfpPkFHj_Zs0iU2V

    Love that you did this one, I was a HUGE Coal Chamber fan as a teen lol... That said, you should check out Taproot, Finer Eleven (their first two albums), Kitte, and Boy Hits Car (their first album). That's just off the top of my head as an old head 😂 Keep up the great work 🤘 but yea, Kittie's first album for sure... just sayin... 😉 Edit: it's an earlier album that the ones aforementioned, but I think you'd live 'Astro-Creep: 2000' by White Zombie. White Zombie is infinitely better than Rob Zombie 😉

    "Goth-Korn" is a description I've heard alot over the years. And I'll say that this debut is similar to Korn's first, except heavier. Love it and play it to this day. And my favorite CC album. Loco, Sway, Oddity, First....SO good \m/

    At time, the band combines the best of what Korn did (across their first three albums anyway) and also sounds a little bit like another Roadrunner band at the same time, Ill Nino. Admittedly, because of the drama between Coal Chamber and Sevendust and me having been a fan of the latter band, I really never dug into Coal Chamber as much as I should have, but their recent reunion had me checking out the old stuff again. Unspoiled is good, but my favorites were always Loco, Bradley, and Sway, just for the intro alone. Also, to the best of my knowledge, Dez Fafara was the only vocalist, although the band supplied background vocals. It's amazing to hear that, even though Dez would do a 180 in musical styles when CC broke up and he formed Devildriver, he still had the same gruff, angry vocals. Another great video, Molly!

  • @mollyesanborn
    @mollyesanborn3 күн бұрын

    His vocal ability is great, it really does sound like two different singers at times with how he changes up his delivery. I'll have to give Devildriver a listen at some point too, I'd be curious to hear his vocals for them.

    it's a good ranking. I started loving converge this year only. Jane Doe and AWLWLB are absolutely mindblowing, I agree with you there. I have not put enough effort into the other albums, maybe ATF. I was hoping You Fail Me might be on par with the first two, I've heard great things about it, but that would be a little too good to be true! Only thing that dissappointed me was you did not mention A Glacial Place, that song is a masterpiece. BTW, Jacob Bannon created a painting for every song off AWLWLB. It's pretty awesome.

    For the next FNM reaction, I would suggest either "Album of the year" or "Introduce yourself" (the latter is with their previous singer Chuck Mosley, and it shows another aspect of the band). "Sol Invictus" is also interesting, though, but more mature and kind of somber.
