    I am utterly stunned, ‘gob smacked’, dumb founded that a so say, reputable and highly respected magazine like Stereophile can feature premium hi-fi equipment accompanied by sound clips. Do they really expect the discerning audiophile, or the man on the street for that matter, to be able to appreciate the sonic characteristics of that rig via the compressed algorithms of KZread? Absolutely and totally insane. Brings into question the whole legitimacy of ‘high end’ hi-fi. Through the algorithms of KZread, I question whether absolutely anyone could differentiate between sound clips from an entry level system and a premium system. Am I missing something? Can someone please enlighten me.

    The T + A DAC is a streaming DAC. Seems odd to use a server with it. Just another cable to get in the way. Just play music from a USB drive. Way better.

    Love my Q150s, can’t imagine getting nicer sound or more sound stage out of a speaker that size. I power them with a 75 watt Denon amp, the mellow denon sound works well with the bright KEFs. Very revealing but I can listen to them all day

    Pretty impressive speakers, I had the 6 home to compare with my Focal Aria 936. The Dali was more detailed and natural sounding. The soundstage was better as well. The vocals were more lifelike, listening to Diana Krull was pretty incredible.

    I'm just saying it would be easy to bump the tone arm when you were reaching for the Bluetooth button and if it's going on on the vinyl already it would be easy to scratch it, that's all

    Yep, I love the JBL L52. I consider it #2 after my GoldenEar BRX. I also compared the other 2 to the KEF LS50 meta and I thought it was terrible...very beaming, heavy, inefficient like the JBL Apple Music lossless

    As much as I love my Parasound 2125v2 for my GoldenEar BRX, I've upgraded to the NAD C298 (similar to NAD M23). My Parasound moved to powering the surround L/R speakers in a mixed use music/movies 7.4.4 setup and movies sound better. My requirements (<50 lbs and <16 in deep, trigger input/output, gain adjustment, RCA loopout for subwoofer). It's 2024, and I'm shocked at how many amps don't have at least a trigger input, much less a gain adjustment. My video kzread.info/dash/bejne/oJerpdGpnquwoaQ.html Apple Music lossless

    I am user of b&w, this Nautilus was a goal for me ( sone years a go). The sound it's to soft for this days, maibe Classe Delta make this more obiously. But four of ultra high end amp ( Gryphon, i say) is too expensive.. Maibe some good D class amp make this posible. Indeed it's a resonance free cabinet ( outside), i like it very much.. If i buy in future, i change crosovers for i can use with my Amp.. Eny way, KZread make sound to soft and with more lows.. BR👍

    Nice, though I can't believe B&W are still using aluminium diaphgragms when technology has moved on at a rapid pace. That also explains why they rolled off the tweeter at 25Hz (+/- 6db). I'd expect a lot more for $100kUS speakers which require 4 stereo amps or 8 mono blocks to drive them. For a quarter of the price, I'd rather buy a pair of Linkwitz LX521 Reference speakers with Aluminium-Panzerholz sandwich top and the matching PowerBoxNCore amps & cables.

  • @CobraChamp
    @CobraChamp4 күн бұрын

    Yes, I’ve had 2 sets of LX521.4s and they are excellent speakers at a much lower price point, they just aren’t art, nor iconic. So, if it is just the sound you’re interested in the LX521.4 is a great choice.

  • @melbguy1
    @melbguy14 күн бұрын

    @@CobraChamp Well i'm an audiophile, so I vote for the music. I'll leave the Toorak toffs to buy those B&W's for their mansions. Re: iconic, I'd beg to differ. Siegfried Linkwitz was a genius, and his LX521 speakers have been continually refined over decades to the point that they can now compete with any high end speaker on the planet. They may not be as artistic as the Nautilus, but I think Siegfried Linkwitz's magnum opus which was the realisation of his life's work deserves to be called iconic.

  • @Carrera6rennsport
    @Carrera6rennsport3 сағат бұрын

    @@melbguy1 There's a video--few actually---of the Linkowitz speaker, you all can high five each other in their comments sections. Lance Dickie who designed the Nautilus is more of a genius and his latest Vivid Giya's proves it.

    The usual cabinet resonance distortion of the 800 series and Nautilus. Such cabinet resonance distortion was common 40 years ago, unacceptable for a modern high end speaker.
