Thank you sooo much, you have no idea how long I've been trying to get this to work!! 🤩
It took me awhile to figure this out :) Thanks for commenting
Great stuff ,super insightful.
Thank you 🙏
Such a great watch

very helpful tip using vertex attribute for curve id. thanks
It blew my mind when I first discovered it 😀
@@BoldBreak earlier I tried fracturing the tracer and randomizing display color for each curve. i though color user data would read it, but no luck.
@@Androken Greats minds think alike. I'm sure they will put this into a future update or it could be done with the node system in cinema 4D.
thanks!!

Hi there, been following your content for a while, I got 2 question hope you would answer. 1) how difficult it is for new/junior motion designers to get job nowadays 2) where would i be or how would i be finding freelance work as a motion designer?
Hey, Thank your watching and being a subscriber. The current market is really tough for all Jobs not just Motion Designers. This should not dishearten you though. I was in a similar situation when graduating from university in 2010. It was not long after the '08 economic meltdown and Jobs were few and far between. It took me until 2012 to get a full time design job. Before then I did internships, some bits of paid work, whatever I could get. For freelance work I would first start with LinkedIn. There are so many platforms where you can build an online presence,. Dots, Fiver, Up work, WorkingnotWorking, Vidsy are a few. Keep reaching out to people, network join slack, whatsapp and Discord groups. Your portfolio and network are equally important when getting motion work. I've seen some very average motion designers with a large network be busier than talented designers with a small network. I hope this helps. Feel free to reach out to my email. I'm happy to answer any questions. Good Luck ❤
@@BoldBreak I thought if I could contact agencies motion design and marketing agencies to get some freelance work what's your opinion on that, do you think it is good to reach out for work? Do marketing agencies need motion designers too?
@@KashifAli-oz4rq always a great way to try get work. When freelancing it is common to reach out to marketing agencies. But do be prepared for 90% to not reply. It’s also a great way to pray live selling yourself if you email 100 agencies and you get 5 regular clients out of it you are doing well. Try not to get disheartened when doing email outreach.
@@BoldBreak Thankyou so much for your time, just three more questions. 1) if I try cold outreach asking for job in agencies is it good way? Actually I'll be looking for a remote job not on site 2) How about direct clients how to find them? 3) If I do free brand motion work ( Which I'm currently doing) and send them as a free sample just for an exposure and hopefully landing a job, what's your opinion on that?
@@KashifAli-oz4rq Remote work is an acceptable way of working. I would recommend that you get experience on-site with other designers if possible. You will learn very fast being sat next to other motion designers. Finding clients direct is difficult and requires connections and luck. Do research find business that have online video content. Maybe look at reaching out. The best think you can do is lots of research. Companies that have marketing departments but dont have a full time motion designer is a great start. This is why LinkedIn is a great tool. I would recommend doing free work for companies that are profitable. If you are going to offer your services for free best to help out a charity or local business. Personally I recommend against free work that is not always possible. Free work is worth doing if you can see a long term benefit. Companies that use your services for free are doing a disservice to themselves and designers. There are some video I did on all these topics check out here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nqOZy7CFoc25aM4.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/gXuXza6Yg9irkZM.html
Thanks, you're good, but the magnifier as a cursor is a very bad idea
Thank you for the feedback, it is no longer used in our videos
Thanks. But u can use also standart material for hairs if u use tag RedShift Object. At least I use it for tracer. I like this idea to use hair position for gradient.
For a basic hair system the tracer is a viable option but for work requires more complexity it is best to use the C4D hair object. Many hair systems requires dynamics and thousands/millions of strands. The hair shader works differently to other shaders. Physical hair has completely different properties to the standard shader such as Melanin.
I feel like you're missing a step, and you're not using mixed colors or nodes to make the car paint reflect on the mixed material
Thank you for the feedback. This is a good suggestion and worth trying. Redshift now has the flakes node which makes this process much more streamlined.
Very useful!
Thank you for checking it out
Great stuff - many thanks for sharing!
My pleasure!
what HDRI scene are you using ?
A HDR of an Auto shop its available for free here : polyhaven.com/a/autoshop_01

Can you give me your file please?
Hey!! The file is available on the Bold&Break store here: boldandbreak.com/store/Cinema-4D-Working-Files-c153177672 You can also receive the file by signing up as a YT member which is cheaper :)
How do I get to see something? Where do put geometry and materials so you can actually see something when you render?
@@schmergenz Hey I don't full understand your question. Are you having issue re-creating the scene in cinema 4D or have you purchased the working file from the store ?
@@BoldBreak Hi, sorry I'm a novice so probably didn't pose the question correctly. What I was trying to ask is, after you have constructed this particle system, how do you then get it to look like it does in the thumbnail preview of your video with those really nice looking light streaks etc?
Teacher, can you share texture maps? I want the texture practice from the video😀
Sure thing , the working be made available soon. There are also texture packs on the boldandbreak store check out the link in the channel description

Great video 📸
Thank you 🙌
Nice video. Totally agree. I got into 3d and motion graphics without knowing anything about photo. And learning some photography really changed my way of working.
Thanks for watching. Sometimes its hard to see the impact it has but it really hit home for me when comparing old photos and work to more recent ones.
This is brilliant 👏👏

Absolutely amazing stuff 人 ● ‿‿ ● 人 I’m doing my first steps at simulations. Its quite addictive. Thank you for the tutorial ^______^
Thank you for checking out the video and your feedback. Delighted its helpful.
When I render my animation using this technique it doesn't render the traced particles even though they are in a sweep. They show up when working on it in the ipr but when I render a animation it is just not there. Any idea why?
Hi, I have the same problem, could you find a solution?
There are separate sliders for emission values for viewport and render. Make them the same value 🎉
Feel free to send me the scene files, Happy to have a look for you.
@@BoldBreak I've already sorted out the problem, thanks)
Awesome @@user-wz4dr2sx3h
Saved my day with the "auto bump map turn off" tip. THanks!
Glad it helped. It’s always one small setting that can have a big impact 😅
Why are you using the old material instead of standard one? Any advantages?
New material doesn't allow for GGX under BRDF
The RS material offers a bit more control. We can change our BRDF and also change our Fresnel type. You will get a similar result using the new material but less control.
@@BoldBreak I think the standard one is faster, I've heard about that somewhere. Once PBR materials are "physically correct" I don't believe it will offer inferior results.
@@Ricardo-de9ju Yes, Standard materials are slightly faster due to having less properties to calculate. Usually I’ll opt for a standard material. But on occasion I’ll use the older material node for finite control.
so cool!
Thanks for dropping by
rendering this is hella long
What is your hardware ? Rendering hair takes a substantial amount of resource.
@@BoldBreak Nvidia rtx 3500i with 16ram. I rendered 23 frames and it took 2 hours 40min 15secs. It's about 5 min for each frame. I saved the first few frames from RS renderviewer which took about 1min 44 secs to load.
It looks good tho, I made grass for the record
Thanks!
Anytime, thank you for watching

way to go fam
Love it, but I do not see this 3D sculpt site when I search, and I was very interested in how you did the sparkles. They fade off, and everything I've ever tried using particles in C4D just shut off over time-no choice to fade
The sparkles are done in After Effects. But you could do them in C4D with the emitter using an missive material.
Hello, Even if I have the hair renderer on in the settings, the hair will not appear. Does somebody know why? Help is appreciated :)
Try in the Redshift Render View. Update your GPU, make sure you are using the latest version of Redshift. If it is still not working happy to look at your scene files.
I have a hair collider tag applied to my character but the hair still passes through the model. Any ideas on why this happens? I'm using R23.
What version of Cinema 4D are you using ? there have been issues with Hair which were fixed in the December update.
